I would guess one of the most replaced parts on an Atwood hot water heater and over charged by the dealer. If the the gas side is not working on the hot water heater but the electric is, pop off the original and plug the wire right to the heater(jump the coupler) If it starts, the coupler is the issue. Replace, don’t run without this, the original could have blown doing its job protecting against an over heating problem. Probably not, but just in case.

So far Im on my second one and they appear to be doing what theyre meant to do. You have to push the connections together real hard because theyre a tight fit.

This item perform perfectly. I replaced the existing one on my RV water heater and it immediately fired up and started heating the water.

After working fine for 5 days on gas my original thermal fuse failed. The replacement was simple to install, good price, no issues. Carry some extra as once blown the water heater will not work in electric mode either.

These come straight, you will need to bend 90 degrees once installed. Spade connectors fit tight.

After I found out what was wrong with the heater. It was a simple low cost fix. This info should have been in the manual.
