This is the perfect size for my sun conure. The perch is a good height that her tail doesn’t touch the floor and I like that it comes with a removable base for easy cleaning. However it is very unstable and wobbles a lot when seated in a car that’s moving. The only other things that would make it better would be to have two dishes and more options to customize it with your own toys or perches! I know my bird would like a rope perch more than a standard dowel.

Everyone loves them, just be careful with microwave. Not suitable for multi minutes in microwave

IF USING TRAVEL CAGE IN CARS, USE THE STRAP TO ATTACH IT TO CAR HEADREST, THE CAGE IS EXTREMELY LIGHTWEIRD AND IF NOT SECURE THEN IT WILL FLY OFF WHEN YOU MAKE A TURN. At first j balked at the price but after using it, I consider it worth it. The cage is not made of metal like usual travel cages which is good because it made my bird less anxious when in the car due to the lack of the cage noises when it rattles. It also has a removable tray which is very nice and a small food tray. The clear screen makes it easy for your bird to not feel trapped and to actually enjoy car rides. You cant find a spot to place a dangle toy but I managed to attach a fuzzy straw to put bells inside. Please use strap as a way to attach to car headrest so the cage wont fly off since it is so lightweight

i love this carrier but may be too small for a cockatiels long tail feathers but other wise a good durable carrier for short distance use like to the vet for example also cant put any toys into it hence the removal of one star

We have 6 cocktails at in our flock and these have been perfect for travel and they collapse down nicely for storage.

For context, our little chicken is a parrotlet, the smallest of all parrots and only slightly bigger than a canary. If you have a small bird and are considering this carrier, read on. When buying anything online, sight unseen, there are concerns about materials and quality of course, but when buying for our precious smol monster (who is delicate and susceptible to dangers we humans are not), we wanted to be extra careful. That is why we were pleasantly surprised to unbox this A4pet Travel Carrier and find that it is well made, sturdy, easy to keep clean, and totally functional for even a tiny little dinosaur like ours (with some minor modifications!). We were concerned that the large metal grommets (which would likely be no issue for any bird larger than a cockatiel) presented a danger if our itty-bitty demon tried to stick his head through and get stuck or otherwise injured. Well, it turns out that the grommets are pretty much the exact perfect size to securely mount a JW Pet rope perch, and that’s what we did. There is PLENTY of ventilation through the other mesh panels, so blocking these ports is no issue. It also provided our miniature dragon with a place to sleep, preen, and file his nails. Originally we had one rope connected to both grommets, but then decided to add a second rope instead for more climbing and exploring over our 3-day move (FL to CT). So, what to do with the open ends? Well, a cardboard drink carrier from that famous Seattle coffee company fits just about perfectly in the bottom tray that comes with the carrier. The holes in the drink carrier allow you to secure the “free” end of the rope perches as well as provide something to shred and a place to put nutriberries or other healthy snacks. We cut out a section in the center of the cardboard to put a small food dish. Our beautiful baby pterodactyl was scared of the carrier at first (like most things), but grew accustomed to it over a couple of days and ultimately was very comfortable inside during our trip. The handy shoulder strap made it very easy for us to bring him in and out of hotels along the way and the carrier is very lightweight - much better than trying to lug a cage around. Note 1: like virtually anything made from plastic that you buy online, this has that “inflatable pool float” odor when it arrives. We didn’t want to subject our petite velociraptor to any fumes, so we set the carrier out in the sun on the patio for a couple of days and it knocked it down about 95%. Note 2: the carrier comes with a cover, but we didn’t use it. The material it is made of didn’t seem very breathable and the fit was too “snug” for us… your mileage may vary. We just draped a light towel over the top for bedtime.

We had a freak accident at the house and this cage most likely saved my parrot’s life. A glass bottle exploded right next to my parrot while she was in this carrier cage sending large sharp pieces of glass everywhere. The force was so much that some of the glass cut my arms and I was not even near it. If my parrot was on the counter outside of the cage, she would have been severely injured or worse. Just wanted to post this review in case you are worried about the quality and durability of this carrier cage. There are small puncture marks in the plastic, but thankfully none of the glass went through. I circled the puncture marks made by the glass in the plastic of the cage for reference. Probably a really odd sounding review, but this cage kept my parrot safe in a freak accident situation and I am very thankful. This is a good quality product and I would highly recommend this cage.
