I never write reviews but this is absolutely the worst quality Laptop i have ever come across. After owning it for only 6 months the screen completely died and had to send it to Acer for repairs. Now just 5 months after that the touchpad now completely stopped working. I only use the PC for web browsing and streamimg mainly. The bottom of the laptop gets extremely hot and overheats very easlily which im sure causes all these issues on the motherboard.. Dont bother with this one better off to spend a little more to get quality.

I have not bought a new laptop in a few years. Not only is it easy to set up, but the screen is large, the menu options are easy to navigate, and it is super light with a long lasting battery! I am using this computer for online college courses and I could not have made a better choice financially or product wise!

On paper spec this Acer Aspire 5 A515-46-R14K looks very attractive. I ordered this laptop from Amazon in August and it arrived on August 22nd. It was made clear the laptop comes with Windows 10S but I am very familiar with switching out of the S mode in Windows 10 so that does not bother me. This would have been a great product just like my other purchases until Thursday December 2nd, when all of a sudden the hinge (between keyboard and screen) on the right side becomes bad.

Only thing that this laptop is missing is a memory card reader, other than that it performs well for the price ($299 on prime day)

I have been impressed with the performance of this little laptop I got for $399. Granted I moved from a HDD to this SDD, which probably accounts for a large percentage of the improved speed I notice, but given the modest price, it has lived up to my expectations and beyond. I will also mention I added 16G Ram to take it to 20G which added a quite a kick, and a second 500G SDD (the drive cady is included in the box), because the one drive on it was only 128G, just not enough for the long haul. There are videos on youtube for A515-46 install procedures, and one of them points out the screwed down board that has to be loosened to install the drive bus, which was the most helpful advice. Ram install is no brainer, but only one slot available, the 4G already there is soldered in. All in all I give it a great rating.

This laptop boot pretty fast. But you better upgrade RAM if youre doing graphics and coding work and mostly if you want to run battle royale games on low 720p . It is easy to open, unplug the battery and upgrade RAM and Drive . Ive been using it for more than 8 months now. The fan cool under the laptop so you have to put the laptop at a certain angle if the fan get noisy and no more noise. It is the best choice for my student budget .

We have bought 3 of these acer aspire 5s in the last 2 years, replacing very slow hp laptops. The aspire boots up in about 10 aec even afer two years. Our old hps would take about 5 minutes and had too much blos5ware.
