> 24 hourGood general-use display, great for gaming with the high refresh rate and G-sync functionality (assuming youre leveraging and NV GPU, anyway). This seems to be of few 1440 displays still available which still have the NV G-sync hardware module inside of them, which allows for variable overdrive and sync functionality from 1Hz up to the displays limit (165Hz in this case, if you overclock the monitor). It seems like now, if you want a real g-sync display, youre limited to 4k, ultrawides, etc. The matte overlay doesnt obfuscate terribly, and its good for productivity since the higher refresh is beneficial for things like front-end development tasks. Does not support HDR.

> 24 hourLet me start out by saying that I do really like this monitor. I think that it has a lot of great things about it, however durability and quality wise in terms of life expectancy is terrible. If I were to buy a third one, within 3 years that would mean I would replace this monitor every year. Im not sure about everyone else here but paying baseline $500 dollars for a product that will not last me a year is borderline insanity. This is not a new issue either, both of them it started with a dead pixel and just escalated from there. One entire section of my other monitor has a very clear Red strip down the center of it. The current one that Im about to replace has 3 dead pixels and the last two were within the last couple of days. The first one was about 7 months in. I should not have this many problems with a monitor thats suppose to have good QC. This is very annoying to deal with and whats usually worse is dealing with Acers customer support. Every time Ive had to deal with the Acer customer support it leaves me wanting to tear my hair out because of the constantly transferring me to different departments, or the fact that I simply get hung up on every so often. Im just saying, for anyone who likes a good monitor but likes to replace it yearly. This is the monitor for you. And I will say this : I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES BESIDES THIS. The monitor is great, works fine, great picture, great response time literally no issues at all with it besides the fact that its life span is that of a chameleon. My advice? Still to buy it, but if you experience any issues like I have. Request your money back and take your money elsewhere like Im going to do.

> 24 hourI bought this monitor to run 120fps at 4k/1440p/1080p on ps5 and it works extremely well! It also works great on my Xbox One S. The quality is excellent and I would recommend to anyone looking for a well-priced monitor for their next gen console!

> 24 hourAfter three months of use, Im happy with my Acer XB271HU. My reason for the 1 star reduction is for the small back light bleed my unit has. The unit arrived with zero dead pixels but a small, yet noticeable amount of back light bleed in 3 places when you look for it. I didnt win the monitor lottery with a perfect unit, but it is enough within my level of tolerance that I didnt want to gamble with another one that could contain dead pixels or worse BLB. The virtues of this monitor are amazing. Crystal clear 1440p display, smooth 165Hz g-sync refresh, vivid colors and viewing angles attained by the IPS panel and a nice slim bezel that looks good next to a 2nd screen. It has everything I wanted in a high end gaming monitor. I upgraded from a 1080p, non-synced TN panel so the upgrade was night and day. I have this unit paired with an overclocked Asus Strix 980ti and I continue to be amazed how beautiful gaming looks on this monitor in comparison to my old 1080p Functionality the only flaw this monitor has is the OSD menus. Theyre very frustrating to use and too often I struggled to find the setting I wanted to adjust. With that said, after the 2nd day, I havent had to touch the OSD so its not that big of a deal, but it could be much better. The styling of the monitor isnt my type. Its a bit to extreme gamer for my taste, but I dont hold that against it since I knew exactly what I was getting. With that said, the stand/base is nice and firm, and allows for a good level of movement/adjustment to align it to my eye level. The thin side/top bezel is nice and I can live with the gaudy predator logo on the bottom. Overall, this is the monitor Ive been holding out for for the last 4 years. Its just too bad I didnt get a perfect unit.

> 24 hourThis monitor has amazing colors, clarity, response/frame rate. Its fantastic and a huge edge in gaming! The only issues are where the higher up executives got involved with the dumb RGB lighting design. The higher up out of touch executives must have told the engineers: it has to have RBG lighting. The engineers: okay? but where do we put the lights? Executives: it has to be visible. Put the lights on the chin of the monitor facing the user so they can see them Engineer: You sure it wouldnt look better if they were on the back and gave a glowing reflexed effect off the wall? Executive: no they have to be right in front of you facing your face so everyone knows its RGB. Engineer: ...Okay youre the boss. Acer, if youre gonna have RGB on your monitors dont shine the lights right in my face. This chin lighting bar is such poor taste and looks really bulky and ugly, and I wont be using it. Also stop putting built in speakers into your gaming monitors. gamers dont use them. You guys were so close to making a perfect monitor but you got lost in the sauce.

> 24 hourGot this for my son for gaming and it blows away my much more expensive Samsung TV. Its amazing how much better the same game on the same console looks on this monitor.

> 24 hourUpdate 2/17/18: I found a dead pixel I missed. Going to exchange this for another one. Fingers crossed. Predator 1440p 27 IPS - Amazing monitor! Im not an expert on monitors at all. In fact, ive only bought one other monitor for gaming and it was a much cheaper $200 monitor which this replaced. My previous monitor was a 1ms 60hz 1080p and did what it could very well for its time. I did a lot of research on going to 1440p and what response times, refresh rates and TN vs IPS means. I found most reviews for IPS monitors saying its a roll of the dice since the quality control isnt where it should be, which could result in multiple returns until you got a good monitor. The first monitor i received was perfect out of the box. No dead pixels and I dont see any back light bleed (BLB). Granted im not an expert on monitors, so i could be missing the BLB but i just know i have zero complaints about the picture. I did have to look up best settings because out of the box the picture was clearly wrong and from my research I had learned that I should only use that as a starting point because every monitor is different and each persons perception and preference is different. So I had my starting point and adjusted until everything looks close to perfect for me. My only complaint about the monitor is the controls for the on screen display. They are ok and get the job done, but there is a lot of room for improvement. But since the setup is done, the only time I use those controls is to change my input from DP to HDMI, which isnt as easy as it should be, but it does the job (shouldnt take 4-5 button pushes to change between only two inputs). Pros: Colors - Holy hell do the colors look amazing on IPS, I dont think ill ever willingly go back to TN (just my preference) Refresh rate G-Sync - This is something I wont be able to live without in the future as long as I have NVIDIA GPUs 1440p - I can definitely see the increase in clarity from 1080p Cons: Only 2 inputs Controls - OSD controls are mediocre and annoying to toggle between only 2 inputs If you are buying this for gaming and want to know how my GPU handles the upgrade to 1440. I currently have an MSI GTX 970 (not over-clocked). Games like GTA V, Tomb Raider (2013) and Hitman Absolution look amazing and run at 50-60fps on 1440p and almost maxed out on settings. I tried running Witcher 3 and even had to dial back some graphics settings from the NVIDIA Experience recommended settings to get it to run at 50-60fps. Witcher 3 looks beyond amazing, but I do still get a little stutter when running and turning my character. Ive yet to try anything else, but Im assuming any newer AAA titles might need to have settings lowered or run on 1080p for them to run well. Hoping to upgrade to the next generation of NVIDIA cards once they come out, to really get the benefit of this monitor. Also, I havent played much of my PS4 (launch day version) on this, but the little I did looked great. TLDR: If you are in the market for a 1440p that looks amazing, i would highly recommend this monitor. If you will be switching between inputs multiple times a day though, the controls on this might frustrate you.
