Amazon Basics Outdoor Smart Plug with 2 Individually Controlled Outlets, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Works with Alexa Only

I created a couple of routines, and the outlet often forgets to perform them. Also frequently becomes unresponsive

Bought this to hook up my outside lights and it works as expected. Alexa makes folks lazy but hey that is what we pay for. The price was good as well. Got it on black Friday and saved a few dollars. No complaints.

I have a bunch of indoor plugs from different brands that work with Alexa but I was missing one for outside so I was really excited to try this Amazon Basic Outdoor Smart Plug. I use it to control my lights and inflatables outside during different times of the year (Halloween, Christmas, etc). Initial setup was easy, following the enclosed instructions and using the Alexa app on my iPhone. It did take longer than normal for the App to recognize it compared to my previous experiences with other Smart Plugs, but after a while it connected successfully. My biggest issues were after the initial setup. The Plug has 2 outlets and for some reason the Alexa app stopped being able to control 1 of them, telling me it was unresponsive! Since 99% of the times I use the Alexa app to control the plug it became very annoying. I searched for a solution online and ended up having to remove it from the App, resetting the plug itself to its initial state and than added it to the Alexa app again. It seems to have solve to issue for now but it was still more troublesome than any other Smart Plug I had tried before. Ive been using it for a few months now; during the Summer with lots of Sun and heat and more recently with colder temperatures and rain and it has been working fine.

This was an easy set up and works perfect so convenient to be able to control your outdoor lighting through the Alexa app.

It allows a routine to be set up along with controll of both the lights and pump on a fountain independently.

I bought two of these for my outside Christmas lights this year. I have had experience with other smart outlets, and gotten frustrated getting them set up. These were a breeze to configure. Just scan the code on the box and everything works great. Im continuing to use one as a grow light timer now that Christmas is over.

Used it for Christmas lights and it works great. Alexa can turn them on and off on the schedule or whenever I wish! Nice product. Easy to get working with Alexa.

This does the trick for turning on and off the outdoor XMas lights, but there is one oddity--it shows up as Amazon Basics Plug in the Alexa app, and you really have to dig around to find it in the list of supported plugs. Setup took way longer than it ever did for other Amazon plugs because I couldnt find it in the app and thought it wasnt working. I took off a star for that frustration. That aside, it does what it says it does.

Buy this plug. Hooks up to alexa app seamlessly. Easy to set up. Ill be buying more! This plug is so easy to set up and works perfect. I am 30, but I can never work any of our electronics... however, I was able to set this plug up and have it working on my alexa app in less than 5 minutes. Works like a dream. Each outlet works as a separate command on my alexa, which i love. I previously bought a different bluetooth plug that i couldnt figure out and needed to return.. but this one was absolutely wonderful. Im buying another and would highly recommend!
