Fantastic upgrade to my 1600. It boosts to 4.3 ghz without any tweaking, and single-core performance is finally on par with Intel. Paired with RTX 2080 at 1440p and immediately noticed the difference in gaming, particularly in CPU-intensive scenarios involving AI and highly-populated areas. At 1080p the FPS increase is even more noticeable. 8 cores also mean I can have a ton of things running/open in the background. Very satisfied with purchase.

Go for it. But if you have extra money to spend, go for Ryzen 3900X (it has twice as big Level 3 cache, and 12 cores vs 8 ones). I have both, and I love hem both.

Had to replace my old CPU as it wasnt Windows 11 compatible. This one is, and after a Bios update (do it before you upgrade the CPU), it works seamlessly. Been using AMDs for over 25 years without any problems. Games boot up quicker, slight increase in fps

I have 0 complaints about this processor outside of the fact that AMD is STILL using PINS to socket their CPUs in 2020. One minor incident almost caused me to lose my ~380$ chip. (I blame the motherboard for letting the CPU go with the heat sink) - nonetheless if it were plates like Intels, it wouldnt have been an issue regardless.

UNLIMITED POWER!!! I started with a with a ryzen 7 1700 and switching to this gave me 30% more frames in rainbow 6 seige and double the fps in other games, I love amd. GO TEAM RED!!!
