Not much to say about a smart outlet. Easy to add to HomeKit and works consistently.

For the price, this is a pretty good smart plug. While you need a hub, it works with HomeKit.

I have lots of Aqara devices on my hub so I wanted to try this smart plug to get the power monitoring function. Its a beautiful plug that only takes one wall socket space if plugged into the top outlet. It paired effortlessly to the Aqara Hub and was visible in HomeKit. To see the power numbers, you have to go to the accessories options and select the plug in order to see the power numbers. I wish it were displayed on the Home card in the Aqara app. In the power monitoring screen, you can set various options such as charge protection which turns the plug off if it measures less than 2W for 30 minutes (to stop charging a cell phone for example) and power-off memory which resumes the state of the plug in case of a main power outage.

I have been using Aqara devices over a year now. And I use them in Apple HomeKit. I haven’t had any problems with them setting them up at all. This is great if you’re trying to get into the smart home. Just remember that you need a Aqara hub to make this work.

This is an overall decent device. Easy to use, and can be connected to a DIY Zigbee network and integrated into Home Assistant very easily. It is annoying that the bulk is vertical not horizontal thus you can only use one in an outlet, but that is minor. The real problem with this plug which in my opinion makes it completely useless is that it does not remember its previous state after power loss! I bought three of these to monitor power usage on my office PC, as well as components in my network rack. It was working well until a typical Florida Flicker where the power went out for a few seconds. All three of these plugs stayed off after power was restored until I physically went to each one and pressed the button to turn them on again. Thinking this might be one of those devices where you just need to use the app to affect this setting, I removed one of them from my zigbee network and paired it with an Aqara hub and added it to the Aqara Home app. Went into settings, and nope, no option for power on state or power on memory at all.

I am a victim of the Insteon shutdown and wanted to replace my smart home devices with something that was not Wi-Fi and could form a separate mesh network like Insteon did. After a bit of research I decided to give Aqara a try. Bought a couple of these smart plugs along with an M2 hub. Everything works great. I’ve added more Aqara products and am very happy with the system. Works flawlessly with Home Assistant as well.
