Arches the best paper, no other water color paper compares. Never ordering from Amazon again tho, product shipped in such bad shape and the block is already coming apart. Must’ve been sitting in some mad heat cause the wax holding the block together is disintegrating. It’s salvageable but I’m giving my money to an art store next time instead of Amazon for real.

Rough surface allows/absorbs numerous layers of paint for blending as opposed to smooth surface which will not. When purchasing the cold, smooth surface (product cover is a pink-ish color) I was told it would blend..it wont! Would not allow me to return. ML

Paint can be removed (lifted) from the paper without tearing. I use this product for watercolor painting.

Great paper for artists

This is my all time favorite watercolor paper, it’s durable and color lift reasonably well.. I do a lot of wet on wet painting, with watercolor, so I tape the edges all the way around the block, so it doesn’t buckle or pull away from the block as easy. When I first started out painting 25 years ago I got a cheap paper and cheap paint… I turned right around and went to the store and got a Arches Watercolor paper and Windsor Newton watercolor paint, it definitely pays to buy quality materials, if you can afford them, but there not cheap. I highly recommend this paper.

I buy this -- a reorder- for my wife for her water color painting. She loves it and it is easy for her to work with!

Its expensive, but youll get the best results.
