> 3 daySo I bought this laptop for my dad to replace his old laptop that was getting slower every day. I could have just upgraded the memory and put in a SSD but the laptop was over 5 years old. I did some looking around around and this laptop seemed to be what my dad needed. Fast processor, SSD drive, backlit keyboard and lightweight. I checked around looking at reviews on various websites. The biggest knock I saw was that 4 Gbs of the memory built into the motherboard so I would only be able to upgrade one chip. It wasnt a big deal, I bought an 8 GB chip and upgraded it to 12GB. The laptop was fast, the amount of crapware was low and all was well as I transferred the data from his old laptop to his new one. Then I noticed the one flaw... It has no SD card slot. My dad has an older DSLR so he takes the SD card out of his camera and plugs it into his laptop. I do the same with my MacBook because my DSLR is also an older model without built in WiFi. My dad who had liked the laptop so far immediately complained. I had to order a USB hub (on amazon of course) to make things right. I would have gone the full 5 stars if it had had a SD card slot.

> 3 dayIve brought Asus laptops since 2010, and have been happy with all of them. Until this one. This $650 vivobook is just as slow as the 3.5 year old Asus laptop that I was replacing (which was $550 when I brought it). I returned the vivobook 3 days after buying it. Do yourself a favor: get an amd 4000 series APU or higher. And maybe go for 16 GB of RAM instead of 8. Dont waste your money for this laptop, its performance is shockingly slow. I wonder if its partially because out of 8 gb of RAM, only 6 is usable. I dont know, all I know is that this laptop is an outlier on terms of the amazing laptops that Asus usually made in the past.

> 3 dayGreat laptop for school, work, or personal use. Its lightweight and fits easily in any bad I have. Its also pretty study. The only thing I dont love is that the speaker is on the bottom so sometimes if using in bed, the sound is. Bit muffled. It syncs with my wireless headphones and my phone which are very convenient features!

> 3 daySo far its pretty good. The RAM is a bit lacking as only 6GB is usable, not super noticable though. It comes with McAfee installed, so take that as you will. Overall its good especially for the price.

> 3 dayWow, this was nicer than I expected. Ive owned a few Asus before, this was the nicest of all of them. I bought this at $577, the next day I saw it at $647 from the same place. Its new, not refurbished. Its super light weight, the keyboard is excellent- lit and responsive. Set up only took a few minutes. I couldnt be happier with the purchase.
