This happens to be my second monitor I’ve ever used for Xbox gaming, both from Asus, however one was a 2013 model 23 inch HD monitor. Ive had previous sed monitor until just a week ago when I decided to upgrade to 4K. No problems at all out of the first one for all of these years daily use, however with this one I have but only one issue. This one has wonderful picture quality, no HDR, but that is a small thing, wonderful value for such a nice monitor. The only issue is I encounter random white static flickering towards the top of the screen, which is doable, but I am very concerned the monitor is already toward a bad spot in terms of life. I have read previous reviews stating a similar white flickering which is a bit disheartening, I truly hope this is a fixable issue. Thanks- Jose.

[Update on 1/22/2021] VGA to HDMI Adapter (please see below for a reason I had to get it) arrived and used it. Yup! That worked fine! The fact that the display port quit working sucked but I am quite happy with the monitor. Overall, it is a great monitor. I dont play games on it so I cannot rate on that. I use it for two purposes. As a 2nd monitor for my Mac and as a normal monitor for my PC. For 2 days, the display port was working but on and off. On the 3rd day, it quit working. I used an HDMI cord that came with the monitor, it works fine. Unfortunately, my PC (very old) doesnt have any HDMI ports but VGA and Display so I order an adaptor for the VGA port. -> VGA to HDMI Adapter Converter with Audio,(PC VGA Source Output to TV/Monitor with HDMI Connector),FOINNEX Active Male VGA in Female HDMI 1080p Video Dongle adaptador for Computer,Laptop,Projector Havent received it yet so I will report how it goes when it arrives.

Reviewing the ASUS 29 Ultrawide Monitor... I have spent weeks researching the perfect monitor to upgrade my home studios needs. I do light gaming, audio recording and production, video editing, and image rendering. I recently upgraded a 10-year old PC with a new 600W power supply, SSD primary drive, and an Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti GPU. I needed a monitor that was large, fast, crisp, and true in color. I also needed something that is affordable, physically adjustable, and well-constructed. In short, this product nailed every single one of my needs. I detect no pixel walking, backlight IPS glow, or system incompatibility. I have always trusted ASUS products, and this monitor fully lived up to my expectations. The price point was almost, suspiciously, too good to be true, but so far so good...

It’s a nice 4K monitor that isn’t excessively expensive. The brightness will seem low for many games and I find myself playing at 100% brightness, which is perfect, but it’s concerning to be at 100% for it. The picture quality and refresh rate are fine. The 4K resolution is worth it, I usually need 2 windows open while working and it displays them well. I usually lower the brightness to 80% when reading on the screen. The joystick button is very nice and responsive, navigating menus is very easy. The display light is nice. The stand is decent and it does allow the screen to tilt, but you can’t raise or lower the screen. The tilt is enough for me. The base is of good quality. There are no speakers, but I find a nice little sound bar that fits under it well.

Monitor is pretty good so far. Though the price was good for the resolution and refresh rate. You do have to do some messing around with the settings as the out of the box picture quality is absolute trash and just doesnt look good. My personal settings are: Brightness: 92 Contrast: 19 Saturation: 47 Cold Temp. Warm Sharpness: 60 And I found that Theater Mode looks pretty good. The only issue I have with the monitor is that the top of the screen looks the tiniest bit darker than the center or the bottom of the screen, BUT I only think that because I might be sitting a little too low, but at the same time my eyes are level about 3/4 from the bottom of the screen.

Note: I am receiving a Warranty Extension from ASUS for this review. This monitor is exactly what I hoped for from a Resolution standpoint. Adding it to my 5K iMac provides a significant improvement over my previous cheap monitor. The price was right and the capabilities for changing to meet my needs are easy. The only drawback is that it will NOT come out of sleep when my iMac wakes up. I have to turn it off and then turn it back on in order for it to receive a signal.

So far the only largest complaint Ive had and the reason I dont give it five stars is that dang button configuration on the back. Its not absolutely terrible but definitely not intuitive and the power off feature is not at all what it could be. Other than that this monitor has been quite great. No other complaints. Cheaper 4k monitor that doesnt noticeably ghost compared to my other Sceptre monitor. I have had this monitor more than a Month without any real issues.

I kid. It is quite bright, though. To feel comfortable I run it at 80/100 brightness. Conveniently, the 4 screws/washers you must remove to detach the default stand mount (attached to it out-of-the-box) are also the same fittings needed to mount a VESA bracket. Theyre M4 10mm screws, if Im not mistaken. ASUS VP28UQG 28 Monitor 4K/UHD 3840x2160. Purchased 2021-07.
