Great product, actually was sold a small aggravating one from local motorcycle shop for $10 more than this one. Returned it and waited on this one to ship to me, glad I did, so much easier and includes replacement tips.

This can split a chain but will damage the plate. It only grabs on set of plate not the whole chain side to side so itll damage the unsupported plate by bending it out. It does push the whole pin out either. If you want ad a half link this is not the tool for that job

Works great, just needs to be a little bit longer to completely push out the pins. Otherwise, it works perfectly.

I needed this for an FTC robotics project which has #25 chain. We had this included aluminum thing that hardly worked. So I bought this. It looks a lot like the USA made breaker from McMaster which cost 4 times the price. It looks and feels solid and comes in a box which implies precision engineering, but its not precision engineered at all. The cam holes are very sloppy so that the gripper teeth neither center the chain nor after 2 or 3 uses are even able to hold on to it tight enough while pushing the pin down. So the pin neither stays center and Im not entirely sure that this would fit in the #25 chain anyhow -- the teeth are just too large. It did break the chain multiple times, to the point that they werent remotely usable afterwards. Im now taking a recommendation from my robotics forum and bought a DarkSoul chainbreaker.

Where has this been all of my life?!! You don’t even have to grind 1 side of pin, it pushes right through where you want it! Guess I’ve been under a rock but this thing is Awesome!

The pin on my tool was not centered making it impossible to line it up properly on the chain. It came with another pin but the old one was stuck in there and snapped trying to removed it.

I had a drive chain on a minivan tailgate that had broken. My choices were to replace the broken chain or spend $300 with the dealer to get the part including the chain. The area to work was tight, difficult to see and the chain quite small. I was able to get this into the spot and complete the job. I have only used it for the one job, but my son will be using in on bicycle chains, Im sure. But I cant speak to durability yet.
