I got these to see if they would work for crop feeding/gavage feeding an adult sick caique. They are absolutely not the right kind of syringes for this purpose. These would be good for birds that are not hookbills, like doves, finches, canaries, etc. Any hookbill species, even the smallest, could bite right through these soft flexible plastic tubes. I had also gotten a syringe set with stainless steel tubes, and thankfully those were the right kind. The quality of the syringes was mostly fine. I mostly looked at the smallest one. There was one sharp piece of plastic sticking off near the end of the syringe that will take a wire cutter or similar to remove, which is a molding/manufacturing defect, but otherwise it was fine. The tubes fit onto the syringes well, with a nice snug fit. I would worry about the soft plastic tubes eventually not fitting as snug and potentially coming off when youre using them (since most people will reuse them), and it could be fatal to a bird if the tube gets stuck in its crop. I would imagine it wouldnt be good for other species of animals either. People using these to feed an animal should definitely check the fit of the tubes each time and consider even taping them to the syringe with electrical tape or something to make sure they dont come off.
