> 24 hourUPDATE (4-STAR REVIEW): With a vacation and a rental car planned, we needed a portable booster seat, so this time I ordered two other different travel-friendly booster seats from Amazon. We required that a travel booster seat be lightweight, take up little space in our luggage, be accepted by our daughter (now age 8), and most-importantly, safe. The other two booster seats arrived and unearthed the previously dreaded BubbleBum, and let her have her choice by sitting on each in our car at home. Given the three choices, she chose the BubbleBum. We used it in the rental car during our Spring Break 2017 vacation, and she used it, no problem. So, Ive updated my review from 2-stars to 4-stars to reflect our success. My daughter would probably still prefer the seat have more of a tapered edge on the front (under her legs), so she didnt feel like she was sitting on a bubble (no pun intended), but it worked sufficiently for its purpose. I did have to check on her to make sure she was sitting upright and to the back of the seat, or else her safety would be compromised, and she needed help getting buckled-in each time, but that just took 3-minutes. Its not perhaps the most ideal item, but when traveling, you sometimes have to make due, and thats what this is. I would not recommend this for longterm use, and neither does the manufacturer. I would recommend this for short-term use while traveling. PREVIOUS, 2-STAR REVIEW: This is a great idea, and I really wanted it to be a success for my family, but it didnt work for my 7-y.o. The seat is too small to comfortably sit on for any length of time, and is much like trying to sit on a balloon. My daughter is not a big child and is actually on the petite side and it doesnt give sufficient seating area for comfort. It would be better if it was made big enough to cover a car seat more, because when inflated it was only about 12x14, or so. Additionally, she found a way to flip it up behind her and not sit on it, and Id be driving down the freeway and glance over my shoulder to find her in an unsafe position on the seat of the car, rather than the inflatable booster seat; not good. Also, without arm rests, I kept finding my daughter sitting on it in creative ways, such as turned sideways or with it up behind her back. In short, she hated it.

> 24 hourI dont hate it but I dont love it either. Its smaller then I thought it was and I just dont feel as though its really safe for my 7 year old very petite grandaughter. Going to return it.

> 24 hourI bought this for my 8 year old while we traveled out of town. It is compact and light weight enough that he carried it in his backpack, inflated in less than a minute, and was easy enough that he could install it on his own (after supervised practice)! The shoulder strap was perfect for bringing the seatbelt to a good spot on his shoulder as well. My son said that it was very comfortable to sit on and it was even tiny enough that we could sit 3 people across (him and two adults) in the back seat of a midsized car. I love that I now have a backup car seat if a friend comes to the house to play or if my son is traveling with someone else. Highly recommend - a great buy!

> 24 hourCan be useful if it’s the right size. Easier and cheaper than trying to lug around your own car seats.

> 24 hourWe used this for quick Uber rides on vacation and it was amazing! Easy to set up and comfortable (from what I’ve heard) It is small enough to pack in a carry on bag as well and the stretch bag for packing is also a plus!

> 24 hourAssuming your child is of an appropriate height and weight to use this booster, it’s a really hard option to beat for travel! Being able to transport this in the small carry bag included is really convenient and being able to unpack it and set it up in any vehicle nearly instantly is wonderful. We don’t travel all that often, but if we’re flying somewhere and dealing with a rental car on the other end, this just makes life much easier than dealing with a traditional booster seat.

> 24 hourWe needed something for our 6 yr old for a 5 day vacation. After looking around at a few products, some very similar, I decided on BubbleBum. It worked out perfect. Its compact, fitting easily into luggage or a backpack. It installs/uninstalls very easy, with no hassle. The only issues I had, its skinny, her butt just fit onto it. My biggest issue though, the location of the mouth piece to blow it up, which sits right in the crack of the seat. Its elevated just enough to not be touching it all the time, but it does touch a very dirty part of any cab/Uber, etc, just because people sit there. I had to buy alcohol wipes to sanitize between rides. I think these should be included, just because travel does sometimes mean taxis and such. Other than that, we loved this thing. Now, I do see some reviews complaining about being uncomfortable, or whatnot with long trips and such, but the thing is, that is not what this is meant for. Its for quick, in and out uses when you have no choice and cant bring a real car seat or booster. If youre long term car traveling, just bring an actual booster.... With that said, for what this is made for, and how it is meant to be used, it works, and it works well.

> 24 hourI like that this product is very, light, easy, and very handy. We used it when we travel and needs to use uber or lyft. What i dont like it is its too low a little higher and bigger would have been great. By the way my daughter used this when we went to Disney world and had to wait for the parade. She was able to use this to seat on the pavement.

> 24 hourI bought 2 of these for traveling with my 7 & 5 year olds, based on a rave review from a friend (& on Amazon). I was not super impressed, and here’s why: 1. Pretty difficult to inflate. The caps are SO hard to get back on after you’ve blown them up, that by the time we succeeded in tightening them, most of the air had leaked out. I had to blow up each of these about 5-7 times just to get them to stay firm. 2. Much larger than I had hoped. These are not the kind of thing that you can easily throw in your purse or “personal item” on a plane. They are big! As I mentioned, I had to carry 2 of them so that was a double-whammy. 3. My 5 y/o could not independently buckle himself with this booster. This was frustrating & time consuming over our week-long vacation. Overall, the product is ok and we will be keeping them because we have already used them. I’m happy that it saved me money on renting booster seats, but we were left fumbling with these in the car rental line at the airport and it wasted a lot of time (I have 3 kids so I’m looking for convenience!). The kids did say they were comfy though. I’m not sure if there is a better option out there, but it’s worth investigating before investing in these.
