Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 2022 | Video Editing Software with Hundreds of Premium Effects | Slideshow Maker, Screen Recorder, DVD Burner [PC Key Card] [Old Version]

After years of using i movie I wanted more editing options and effects. I downloaded this to my windows desktop and it was very easy to set up. Once you get past the learning curve it is simple to use. It was hard for me coming from another program, but there are guides to help you learn quickly. So far I am happy with the editing. I have not tried the slideshow application yet.

I would have given it a 4 star rating but every time I open the program there is an ad for updating or buying other products. Seems more like freeware than a paid program. Avoiding flakey advertising is one of the reasons to pay for software. Further, intermittently when I close the program which appears to close a mainly blank pop-up window that is part of their advertising comes up that will not close by clicking the X in the upper right. I either have to open the task manager and end the Corel program or found out I can click the window and then press the ESC button. I talked to their techs a few times and the only solution they could come up with would prevent update notices, etc. from coming up as well. Other than the above it generally serves my needs.

Very disappointing! It will not download. Probably a ripoff like so many other purchases of video editing.

This is ok for someone that does not want to go through the learning curve of a more sophisticated editor.

It has to be the worse thing I have ever bought.

Paint Shop Pro was the first graphics editor I ever used, and I still prefer it to Photoshop. Because of this, Ive been a fan of Corel since they took over PSP from Jasc, over 15 years ago. Still, before trying Video Studio Ultimate, Id never used a full function video editing software before. Unless you count Windows Movie Maker? The included library has a few images and video clips that you can use to start playing around with the software. There are sound effects, music tracks and more built in. I was able to create a short, simple video from scratch using the included goodies in about 30 minutes, even with no experience using the software and without using the tutorials, of which there are plenty. Sure, its not going to win any awards, but it shows the intuitiveness of the software. You can import from multiple sources, export to just as many, record directly from your computers webcam or an external camera, and theres a built in uploader for YouTube and Vimeo, for those looking to be internet famous. For the price, the functionality is superb. The perpetual license vs. a subscription is also incredible, especially with the current practice of making software rentable. I cant compare it to prior versions, but I can say that if you have a need to edit any video, this is superior to anything that comes on your computer or your phone, and anything youll find in an app store.

I purchased this from Corel Directly. Ive have little/no issues with previous versions, but 2022 is a joke. Lags on just a few clips. Would not even load a larger older project I had made with 2020 version. Very disappointing. I will update if I receive any help from them at all. Not holding my breath.

Their software is buggy, their technical support is non-responsive -- as in the copy-and-paste from a recent email message sent to their support email address: Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for reaching out to Corel. Sincerely, The Corel Support Team In other words, email to their support address bounces as undeliverable -- and I have kept getting messages that we havent heard from you in three days (after my immediate email REPLY) to their previous message. Heres what, buggy, means: I have VideoStudio 2021, which I bought when VideoStudio 2019 repeatedly crashed when I attempted to render a DVD and failed to render DVDs for PAL/SECAM (European standard), even though set up to do that. VideoStudio 2021 crashes while CREATING the settings to render a DVD -- not only crashes, but completely shuts down and disappears. It has caused my Windows 7 Pro operating system to lock up. Months of fruitless correspondence and frustration, as I have described, and I have to do the creative/preparatory work of video material in one version of VideoStudio and then import that work into an earlier version that I (presciently) kept, instead of deleting, and render the DVD the earlier version (which doesnt function to render a DVD in PAL/SECAM format. They have asked me for computer system information (compiled by a software utility that reads the computer), which I have sent three times -- and they have kept asking for it. There are other bugs and crude executions of features. They do sloppy work, publish it, and then dont support it. Their chat support doesnt provide technical support or provide a way to get the requested information to their technicians. So, sloppy work technical non-support Decide if thats what you want. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Heres the latest bounce, message from Corels support department. Note that the message didnt really bounce; how do I know? The message, below CAME FROM COREL, not from the email network. Sincerely, The Corel Support Team It appears, to me, that this company is outright dishonest -- first, in publishing software that is so faulty, and second, in sending dishonest bounce messages to requests for help sent to the address they gave, accompanied by their instruction, in that message, to REPLY.
