> 24 hourInstalled in a few years old gaming laptop. Although manufacturer limited hardware to 512GB, this was listed as compatible by Crucial with my laptop and it was. Very fast load times of everything, transfers on and off it also very fast. Future proof as Windows 10 and 11 getting close to 100GB install size (add to that updates). Will upgrade to Windows 11 when Windows 10 support ends in 2025. Ubuntu/Linux not quite there yet but close.

> 24 hourThis is the second Crucial product Ive bought for my Dell computer and Im loving both of them. First was a 16 GB ram stick, easy to install, and instantly improved my computers performance. This 500 GB SSD was easy to install and Crucial has the program (free) to clone my current hard drive to the SSD. No Problem and the computer is really fast. Im a photographer so all my photos and videos will be kept on the old HDD. The O/S and apps will be on the new SSD. Six months later and this review still stands! Best computer upgrade Ive ever made.

> 24 hourI use this plainly just for more reliable storage and it does exactly what I expect it to do. There is nothing wrong with this product, remember to initiate the drive in Windows with Disk Manager to assign the SSD a drive letter and such.

> 24 hourI purchased this SSD to put in a portable M.2 case so I could have some additional portable storage. I dont get full speeds b/c of the case I purchased but they are still more than acceptable (1500 MB read/write). Once the prices come down for USB4/Thunderbolt cases I will upgrade and increase the rest of the speed of this drive. I havent had any issues with the drive at all. I chose this drive b/c I have had a great experience with Crucial drives in the past.

> 24 hourPurchased this 2TB upgrade for my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon (6th Gen). Cloned my existing drive as is using Acronis then installed in computer. The Lenovo diagnostic and repair utility started automatically, then selecting the advanced options I was able to select the new drive as the primary boot device. After that everything worked fine. I didnt really expect much except increased capacity given the problems Intel has been having with chipset fixes through Microsoft updates, but in fact the increased speed over my original P2 is easy to see. Displays are more snappy, software loading is faster, software controls are more crisp. Overall, a great product!

> 24 hourWhat I learned so far: Watch the price of this: it dropped $10 dollars the day after I ordered it (I cancelled & re-ordered it.) The screw to attach it SHOULD have come with your system. It doesnt come with the SSD because there are too many versions. Do use a magnetized screwdriver to attach it. Dont go King Kong on it. The Acronis free Clone program does work, but it is a SLOW, slow process... be very patient. The last step to disconnect the original source drive.... Im NOT doing that! Instead, use your BIOS to set the new SSD as the FIRST boot drive and remove any HDD references (leave DVD & USB boots as alternates) Then use DRIVE Manager to set sames and drive letters. The Crucial Executive Storage Tool; used it to increase speed and efficiency. Did not have any issues with it, although you can bollox things up if you ignore the warning... read the instructions! This is not cutting edge tech so its not for super-gamers, but its a solid performer from a respected company. In a few days, once I have some backups of the new boot drive I trust, Ill reformat the original 1Tb HDD as a data drive. Danger, Danger... Ignore my suggestion to not remove the Source Drive!! ALL Internal HDDs must be disconnected so the system will set the SSD as Drive 0 & as Primary on first boot! Before the next boot the HDDs can be reconnected. Doing otherwise created a FrankenSystem, booting from the original 0 Drive then loading the OS from the SSD.... APPEARS TO WORK, but it is wrong..

> 24 hourGreat product. Installed easily into my Dell Inspiron 7786. Breathed new life into my laptop after the HDD failed. Now the laptop is running faster than ever, and gaming with Bethesda Skyrim is flawless at highest resolution. Exceptionally pleased with performance.

> 24 hourI decided to build my own pc to use as a multimedia and product/software creator. After gathering all the necessary hardware I began to put it together as easy as snapping in a stick RAM The Crucial P5 was simple to install. Having bought my motherboard separate it came with a screw to tighten down this super sonic storage device. I noticed a humongous difference in not only boot time but over all use of my computer is flawless and smooth. Would highly recommend!

Imo and reviews
> 24 hourThe physical installation of the SSD 1TB was very straightforward enough. However the cloning of the drive and installation as the main drive in a laptop with only 1 available PCIe slot was not as clearly to do. Unlike the many other possible computer configurations that are clearly outlined with the numerous easy to follow videos. My HP 15-ef1003ds laptop required 1 part more reading, 2 parts more of watching videos and 7 parts more guess work, in order to get it running as my primary drive. But in the end it was well worth the extra effort because with the included software that was free I now have faster laptop with a larger capacity drive all at a very reasonable price. And thanks to crucials compatibility program I didnt waste 5 days to only realize that it wasnt going to work for me and instead in under 2 hours I now have what I wanted. You can be sure that when I am ready to upgrade the memory from its current 8gb to its max of 32gb I will be buying crucials 32gb kit without a second of hesitation.

> 24 hourGood value for the money. The only issue with the drive that I can find is that it runs rather hot--even at idle. Since I installed the drive in a Dell Optiplex 7050 MT, I added a heat sink to it, and it dropped the temps 11 - 12C. Since adding the heat sink, the drive has not gone over 47C, which is reasonable. No throttling or freezing at that temperature. The performance, even over a SATA SSD, is exceptional.
