> 24 hourI have used Powerdvd for many years…recently purchased a new computer and had in to install. I even use this to stream movies from my computer to my TV through the HDMI connection on the computer and it is still a great quality. I have found very few formats that won’t play if you just add appropriate components. Highly recommend.

> 24 hourThis is just the same old, same old PowerDVD in a nice shiny box that includes an installation disc and the license key on a slip of paper. You can also download the software directly and use the key. It doesnt seem to have the annoying bug where the ui refuses to hide like some of my previous versions did. Basically, it plays blurays and is one of very few software that does. If you want to play them, you probably need this. There are a whole bunch of extra features that are probably useless to the vast majority of people. The software worked fine with Windows 11 and my hardware.

> 24 hourTheres a lot of features that this software offers. Im mainly focusing on it as a media player, media organizer and YouTube manager/player. This is an excellent media player for Windows and I made this my default player now. This player can play the highest quality available for the media. You can use PowerDVD to organize your video, photo, and music collection. The media is loaded according to the location of the actual folders which is a good thing so that you dont need to manage the file locations separately. This is a very good tool to access and manage YouTube contents. All you need is sign in to YouTube to link your account and PowerDVD and youre set. You can navigate through your videos, playlist, subscriptions etc. You can also download and access YouTube offline. Im only taking a star off for the price but the quality and host of features youre getting, this software can easily justify the price tag.

> 24 hourPowerDVD 22 is disappointing. My main issue is its selective in which Blu-ray discs it chooses to play. For example, it wont play Cowboy Bebop: The Complete Series, but itll play Cowboy Bebop: The Movie. Huh? In another instance, the anime film, Redline, wont play, but Black Lagoon: The Complete Collection plays with no issues. I have over fifty Blu-ray films and shows, and its hit or miss on what PowerDVD 22 will actually play. Buying this product has been highly regrettable. I hope everyone else has better luck than I did. Thank you.

> 24 hourThis isn’t an easy review. The reality is that many won’t actually need what this program offers, but for those that do; it does what it does very well – depending. This will be dependent on how powerful your computer is. If your computer is reasonably powerful, this program should work just fine. As far as those who will actually benefit from this program: • This is one of the only available pieces of software for playing Blu-ray discs on PC. If you want this functionality, this program can provide it. • The ability to make personal video files look better. By personal, I mean videos that are located on your personal computer. For this, the program does work quite well. In many ways, it’s similar to the results of editing a picture. It can make the image have greater clarity and sharpness with the default settings, but you can also go in and make further adjustments or even turn on additional filters if you desire. To make sure that there is no confusion though, this isn’t AI upscaling. It’s simple filters that *can* enhance the look of certain video files. That said, there is no option to use this program to modify or “upconvert” your existing video files. This program also doesn’t convert Blu-rays or DVDs. It can play them, but it doesn’t allow you to save them into video files. • If you are familiar with Plex, this program has similar functionality for creating a visual media library – but it focuses on managing all of your local media files on your computer. It kind of works, but it doesn’t work as well as Plex does for creating a network-based media server. This doesn’t bother me really. I already use Plex for accessing all my movies and tv shows on my home network, and I really just use PowerDVD as my video player when I want to watch something on my laptop instead of the TV. It does make watching my videos more enjoyable. Overall, I personally wish this program could do more, especially for the price. In specific, I would like it to have the ability to save Blu-rays and DVDs to video files, and to have the option to apply the visual enhancements to the saved video files as well. To me, it seems like this program is unnecessarily handicapped, and this makes it overly expensive (in my personal opinion) for what it offers.

> 24 hourI find this entire product odious. What they are selling: the world What you are buying: an opportunity to buy the world, maybe. In the end, you are getting an interface for your pre-existing DVD player. That you can have forever. What is also eternal is the opportunity to upgrade it as the barrage of pop ups and emails you get will advise you. The feature -- the cloud storage, the enhanced visuals, the 8K are yours for a trial period. But dont worry, you will be hocked to death with opportunities to purchase them. There is nothing here in the basic kit that you dont already have if you have a DVD player. This will NOT upgrade your existing hardware to 4K (which they suggest on the page -- I was gullible). This will, with the proper buy-in, allegedly up your capabilities to stream 4K (which might be more dependent on what you are streaming to than what you are streaming with, although I dont know). Ill take it on faith. I wont use the free samples, because I totally resent the upsell. I feel exactly about this as I do about time-share sales. For just a little more you can get a little more. In the end, you get a weekend a year in a shared apartment. Not for me. I will probably uninstall and be smarter next time. If it aint on the page -- theres a reason. The page offers no system requirements and when you get the box, you get the list. And the shaft. Ultimately, every time I tried to play from my videos, the computer froze, and once even gave me a blue screen of death. When it relaunched, I used my Windows media player which worked JUST FINE. This is a horrible horrible program which I have now uninstalled. JUST SAY NO.

> 24 hourIf you are looking for a media player that will play music and videos, this one will certainly do it. It can play from a flash drive, local hard drive, or DVD/Blu-ray drive. File types include FLV, mp4, and others, as well as ISO files (with a free driver download). So yes, this is really an all-in-one media player. However, I could not download any of my purchased YouTube movies to watch offline -- despite the claim that you can do so. Also note that you have to (fully) link your YouTube and CyberLink accounts to get this non-working feature to attempt to work. Also note that the 100GB of cloud storage is for 1 year only, then you will have to pay to keep it up. If youre married to CyberLink and have some cash to plunk down on a media player, you could do worse. But if youre just looking for a media player, there are a LOT of other options out there, most of which are cheaper and some of which are free.
