DANIEL SMITH 284610057 Extra Fine Watercolors Tube, 5ml, Moonglow

Love the Daniel Smith brand which was recommended by my teacher. It is always better to use artist grade watercolor paints rather than student grade. You get a much better finished product.

I was shocked to get such a small tube for $11. The pigment is amazing so I know its great quality product but for the $$ and size Ill probably look elsewhere.

I have not found this color to be of much use to me but I am still experimenting with it anyway. Ill try feathers on a Cedar Waxwing next. Im not giving up. Daniel Smith makes the finest of watercolors, in my opinion.

As a professional full time watercolor painter I have used many brands. But several years ago I switched to DS watercolor. I live in WA state where they are based and so I have access to both DS retail stores in the Seattle area. But I also buy on Amazon when I need one tube quickly. I now only use DS. I have been teaching watercolor painting for 10 years, and I recommend them to my students. We all use DS. I have also taught classes at their retail stores. The pigments are rich and full of color. The binders are good, the colors blend well, and they work well on paper. I use Arches brand paper. DS watercolors work wonderfully on Arches. Yes its expensive paint, the result is well worth it. Cheap materials only yield an inferior painting. Make the Daniel Smith investment. You wont be sorry.
