> 24 hourI have only had the laptop for about a week. It was relatively easy to set up. The response time of some of the applications has been moderate to good although I dont have everything loaded yet. This concerns me some. The main thing Im unhappy about is regarding the battery. The battery, fully charged, only lasts about 2 hours. This is completely unacceptable. Secondly, while using the laptop, the bottom of the laptop gets extremely hot. So hot, in fact, that I have trouble using it if it is actually on my lap. It gets too hot for my legs. It makes me concerned about whether the cooling system is actually working. I dont plan to return at this point but Im not sure Id recommend it to others especially if the usage needs to be in transit. If you can be tethered to the power cord (like most of my work is) it might ok. I do with the keyboard was backlit, but I knew it wasnt when I ordered it. I really do like the response and feel of the keyboard.

> 24 hourI purchased this laptop for my garage workshop, and it is perfect for that application. It doesnt have the same feel as my higher end Dell Laptop I use for everyday things, but it works well and if you are looking for a good budget laptop this one is great.

> 24 hourOne of the hinges on the Acer laptop I bought 2 1/2 years ago broke, and I couldnt think of a good way to fix it, so I bought this new Dell. Ive had it for five days and so far, so good. Everything works great, the sound is a huge improvement over my last laptop, and it feels good to type on.

> 24 hourDell laptop itself is very good. But Microsoft installed its own products and OS. It wouldnt let me install my other programs. When I tried to go through Microsoft procedures to allow me to do this, their programming took over and would allow me. So, I had to perform a factory reset/install. Once I wiped computer clean, then and only then was I able to install my own programs.

> 24 hourAlways had a work laptop so this was personal purchase ... *Use at home laptop choice to move around (versus lots of work travel) instead of a home desktop. Liked option of different memory and I went with the max to avoid external drives for storage. *Since more of a home use, went with 15.6. If traveling would have gone one size down. Larger screen is super clear but keyboard takes getting used to ... its off center (since they have a full number pad is to the right) and the wrist rest is larger because of the size. *Set up was simple, touch screen and touch pad so far so good. *Designed so screen wraps and lifts the keypad at a slight incline. Interesting if not necessary. Hopefully remains solid but time will tell. It is not a full flip over tablet (just FYI). I am not used to a plastic case and it has a lot of give and feels less solid to type on, but it is what a Dell is. *Disappointed it doesnt have camera suitable for facial recognition or fingerprint pad for access - didnt think to ask that question. Pin/password typed in only. I took that for granted. *Wish it had the USB charger instead of the old school round plug in adaptor as not interchangeable with many other PC laptop brands that have all conformed to USB - bummer because I have no back up now. *Fit for my purpose but I would not want to have to tote it all over the place since I went for the larger size its more clunky / heavy - thats my choice - so make sure you think of your usage. *Dell by brand and reputation is durable and reliable so hoping a good long-term choice.
