> 24 hourIve never had to put out a fire, but I bought a couple of these a few weeks ago as part of updating our emergency supply kit. I hung them on the inside of the cabinet under the sink and showed them to my kids. Just yesterday my teenage daughter accidentally started a fire in the kitchen -- the first time this has happened to anyone in our family. She quickly grabbed a blanket and put it out in seconds before it turned into a house fire. We were so lucky I happened to have bought these just in time. One note: It says to discard the blanket after use. The blanket didnt look damaged to me, so I started to re-fold it, wondering if I could get it back into the bag easily, and I discovered I was getting tiny glass splinters in my hands. I removed them with sticky tape, threw the blanket away, and ordered a new one. I guess the money we saved by avoiding a kitchen or house fire is worth the cost of a blanket!
