07-01-2025Freud solid carbide. Great product that will last as long as you do your part. ( Dont jam feed your work into it) Any 1/4 inch bit can be broken if you are careless.

> 3 dayNice tool, except it is NOT .25 inch. Measures .245. So if you need precision, find something else.

> 3 dayI should have listened to the other reviews. I was cutting slots with this blade to slide in 1/4 masonite shelving. The slots were too small - i had to taper the masonite to fit. (When i cut slots with a 1/4 dado blade on my table saw, for example - no issues.) I must say that this bit is very sharp and cuts very cleanly. Although theres not much in the way of sawdust removal from the slot..hope this helps.

06-01-2025I purchased this for a CNC router. I measure all my endmills prior to using them and this one came in just shy of the stated 1/4. To me this is not an issue because I always enter the real diameter of the endmill into my CAM software. I have never found an endmill that has been exactly to specifications advertised, but I do not purchase $100+ endmills because for what I do, the software corrects for inaccuracies in the diameter. This endmill works great on hardwoods and plywood. I prefer the straight flute type for wood because I do not get any tear-out and this one leaves a nice clean finish. It also works great at cutting HDPE plastic.
