G.E.M.

Like Michael Crichton, Ms. Goode is skilled at blending science fiction, science fact and thriller elements. G.E.M. is an exciting first novel by Carol Goode. Her fictional characters are warm and real. Suspense builds rapidly as the original plot transforms from a natural disaster with a short deadline to overcome, to a bigger man-made disaster with an impossible deadline! It felt as though this fictional story could have actually happened. I highly recommend this novel and hope there are more to follow from this gifted writer. G.E.M. would make a great movie!

This is a great scientific base novel which had me guessing the entire time. In fact it was so interesting that I could not put the book down once I reached page 200. There are plenty of scientific facts that you almost feel that this is a how to text book. The story flows and has several twists which keep you guessing. This would be a great book club suggestion, especially if you like to research the information provided in the story. I can personally verify a lot of the information referenced in the novel when it comes to security procedures. I highly recommend this book.
