> 24 hourThis is a Kohler replacement part. It is very good quality and expect it to last years under my water conditions. It takes about 5 minutes to replace - the canister must be removed so that the seal can be easily accessed. Use care when removing the upper yellow or black plastic disk where the water line attaches. I cracked it on another toilet.

> 24 hourSo... do I give this five stars because its exactly what it is? Like, if you need one of these, this is the thing you buy. One-star or five-star, this is the product your toilet requires, right, so, what could this star rating possibly even mean? If you need a new one of these youre going to buy it no matter what I say. Unless you just want to throw your old toilet out and get a new one, but like, if you were that type of person you wouldnt be reading Amazon reviews of canister flush valve seals, we both know that. Its great. It works exactly as advertised.. how could it not? Its the correct canister flush valve seal for the model of toilet I poop into, right, of course it works. The instructions dont explain how to take the toilet apart to change it. Should they? I dont know. Im taking a star off for it, Ill tell you that. Ultimately I figured out how to just force it into place but I would have much rather put it on the right way. But here we are, and the toilet flushes great. Five-star product, one-star instructions, I guess.

> 24 hourIn terms of the water cost and noisy aggravation of a constantly running toilet (mine is in my bedroom), This couldn’t be an easier or cheaper repair to make. If it even took me five minutes to pop off the float and slip this gasket ring into the idiot proof groove I’d be shocked. In fact I took the opportunity to scrub and disinfect everything once it was all apart. I love the fit and quality of this product and you can tell it’s better than the original gasket, which I suspect of most original equipment, is thinner, cheaper and chintzier. For under 7.00 Yankee dollars the piece of mind and peace and quiet is well worth the price. I’m gonna buy an extra one or two as I use bleach tabs in my tank that put inordinate wear and tear on gaskets.

> 24 hourMy toilet was draining and refilling constantly and I determined it was due to the canister seal. I considered getting a cheaper generic one but read mixed reviews, so I went with the name brand. I cant speak to the durability of this item but it was easy to install and the toilet issue has been resolved!

> 24 hourIts worth the price, dont waste your time on the cheaper knockoffs. Just get the goods and sleep well at night. No more leaking or running water. A quick you tube check and you can do it yourself. Sixty plus yo woman here, not a quick learner, but a good learner. Look everything up, your system, how-to etc. Do it once, do it right. The cheaper ones buckle, dont waste your time and money.

> 24 hourMy old Kohler gaskets were about 7 years old and had become sticky, presumably due to the chemical attack of chlorinated water. They would occasionally stick to the valve seat and get pulled out of the retaining groove causing the toilet to continuously drain and fill until noticed and reseated. I was going to replace the entire canister flush valve but decided to give this a try first. The valve now works like new, even less resistance when flushing due to no gasket sticking. I bought 4 more and replaced every gasket in my house. Well worth the money and takes less than a minute to replace.

> 24 hourWe have a Kohler Cimarron toilet that has the Red valve seal. This was a perfect fit replacement. Reason we got it was because after 2 years the toilet became very difficult to flush; you really had to put a lot of pressure on the flush handle - it was like it was stuck. Replacing this made all the difference - its back to new. A little tip here, the package comes with instructions on the back so when you come to the part where it shows to rotate the center disc portion of the canister mechanism counter clockwise to loosen, well when I did that it sounded like the plastic was going to snap at the shaft. So heres what you do, just lift the actual canister up enough to reach down below it and grab the center shaft at the base where it connects to the toilet tank. It will feel like a + sign in your hand - take that and turn it counter clockwise to loosen it, and then do the same (clockwise) to tighten it. Its a much sturdier way to take the canister mechanism off and on without feeling like youre going to snap the center shaft off.

> 24 hourHad I known how ridiculously easy this was to fix, I would have done it months ago. The hardest part was probably putting the canister back in the cradle once the seal was replaced. The whole process will take about 3 minutes, maybe 4 if you struggle a bit like I did trying to get the canister to line up so it will fit back in the slot The seal is a perfect fit. The genuine replacement Kohler seal is a bit pricey for what it is, just a simple rubberized ring, but Im guessing what youre paying for is the composition of the rubber which will resist corrosion and disintegration and likely outlast the cheap no-name brand knockoffs. The initial seal lasted 6 yrs. Im guessing this will also last that long.
