Easy to handle with the finger holds. Good value. 50 year old albums sound excellent.

I had never bought a record weight so I was kinda jumping in blindly to it but this one hit the nail! It fits my record player perfectly and even tho it’s not TOO heavy, it definitely helps a lot on the slight bend some of my records have. I will look into buying maybe the more heavier version for myself in the future just cause I think it’s better to have both options in case you need them, especially as someone who’s starting to grow their vinyl collection.

Superb craftsmanship and overall a quality product. A must have for Audiophiles of all spectrums. You need this if you want to get the best out of your vinyl records, especially if you are going to listen to your collection from the 1990s, which no doubt are slightly warped due to age and storage. This handy device works hard to put the vinyl into a playable position, The weight will slowly de-warp your albums, leaving you with a superb and higher quality listening experience!

I have tried 4 record weights and 2 record clamps (see photo), ranging from 7 oz to 22 oz, and this 8 oz weight from Hudson HiFi, known as the Space Ben, is by far the most accurate sounding, meaning it’s unique design is doing its job of stabilizing the record on the platter and isolating it from unwanted vibrations. Highly recommended.

A little less tall than other weights and allows a Rega Dust cover to close without interference. Makes interesting reflections on a record (thought the record was dirty at first). Need to stop platter before removing as it is hard to grab while turning.

The sound of records is dependent on hardware. You can own a certain platter or expensive needle stylus. I estimate that an additional weight in the center of a record may help for 80% of my record collection (edit - I originally thought only 20% of my records would sound better). You can buy different platters, leather or rubber mats, or add records underneath the record youre playing, or whatever. Experiment! The weight helps for certain records, about 80% of my collection. It worsens the sound for the others. Its nice to have for that 80%.
