This is the second computer that I build myself. My previous one was a threadripper 2750x with 16 cores. I was very impressed with AMD at that time. Since then it appears that the roles of AMD and Intel have switched. Intel is now offering more value for the money than AMD for similar performance. I am ecstatic and cannot wait for what comes next. The 12900k is a fantastic processor at this price point.

By watching reviews I was expecting this to be amazingly fast. Its fast but not what I was expecting. Things that take 2 minutes to render with my old i7 get done about 15 seconds faster. I still need to play around with it more. Really disappointed in the scalpers jacking prices up. If youre on the fence about ordering this, Id just wait or order an i7. Its not really worth paying the inflated prices for.

I connected my i9 12900k but the computer detects this as Celeron G6900 with 2 cores... Is this a scam? I need a solution

I went with this for my new 2022 build because I know how fast these things can actually go. Without an OC this runs plenty fast for me and the things I do for work. It does run hotter than most CPUs but this is expected so make sure you have a good cooler. Very fast!

I only used laptops up to this point and this is my first PC build however I got this processor specifically for Workstation class computation and high performance gaming. The Core i9-12900K is blazing fast and uses very little watts for gaming mostly hovering around 65W~80W in the games I have played so far. It renders 3D projects at such a speed I hardly have time to do something else before it is complete which is a great change of pace. I would say the Core i5-12600K is better geared for gaming and this is much more geared towards production or enthusiast class gaming. I highly recommend this processor or anything in the 12th gen Alder Lake family.
