K&n is the only filters I use on my vehicles and here on amazon they are a great price! Will keep getting from here! I’ve done research on filters and I believe K&n is the best

Ive always had good luck with K&N products and continue to like them including this HP-1017. This filter goes on and off well and the 1 nut on the bottom of the filter allows for a reliable way to remove the filter in tight spots or when the filter is on very tight and regular oil filter wrenches are not practical. I would like to have some of the black rubbery grip stuff on the bottom so that I could take it off by hand (some Fram filters have this and it is great). Ive never taken one of these apart or examined it scientifically so I cannot vouch for its effectiveness but subjectively, I think it works well and Ive not had any engine failures while using it.

Good filter

I use it for my Camero SS 2014. Works as expected, BUT please make sure you screw this on with a wrench. Because the whole “just do it with your hand” thing does not work! Did it my first time and had a big oil spill from ten filter because it was not tight enough on

K&n filters seem to last for me. I drive 80 highway miles a day so I always keeps up on my oil changes usually every 3000 if not a little sooner. I only use full synthetic and an oil additive. The oil looks practically the same coming out as it did going in. I’ve tried other filters and I always seem to go back to K&n.

I was happy to see the one I just bought (Nov 19) is USA made! Last years was Mexican. I do see a difference in the construction at the inside bottom of the can. I guess the bypass valve is down there? Not sure what drives the difference. Ill try to add pics if I remember. I always love the nut on the end for removal. In my G8, its hard to get a good grip on the can.

The K&N oil filter is the one of choice for my 2018 Power Wagon. If the truck is not put on a hoist for an oil change the filter is rather hard to maneuver in & out of the little space it is in. K&Ns wrench end makes it so much easier to get the filter to turn to take off.

That welded nut on the end of this filter is worth the price of admission. It’s a high-quality unit anyway, but that nut makes removal a breeze. I don’t know why all the manufacturers don’t go to this. Anyone who has ever fought a filter appreciates this. I buy these for all my vehicles.
