For those that struggle with the Subaru oil filter location, just buy this filter and be happy. The 1/2 nut on the bottom of the filter makes installation (and more importantly removal, when the time comes) a breeze. Not only is the filter easier to install and remove, it is also higher quality that the OEM Subaru part... so its really a no-brainer. Oil changes are normally an easy, 20 minute job... unless your filter is seized and you have to jam a screwdriver through it in order to wrench it out. Then it sucks. Youre covered in hot oil and youre twisting your arm carefully around hot exhaust headers. Save yourself the potential headache and use one of these K&N wrench-off filters whenever you change your oil.

I chose the K&N as it is designed for high flow. That is more important to me than the best filtering. Starving your engine for oil, even super clean filtered oil is worse than plenty of slightly less clean oil in my opinion. That said the K&N has very good filtering and high flow. It costs a bit more than your average filter for sure but if you keep your vehicles it is well worth it. Go watch a few youtube vids on oil filters and see what is inside each and then compare price. Buying on Amazon makes them cheap enough to buy regularly as well.

Easy to get to on 2016 Honda CR-V. These filters must be working well because when I check the oil it is cleaner than when I used other filters.

An excellent quality filter that is easy to install. Have used K&N on all my vehicles for over 30 years and have never been disappointed.

Ive have purchased more than 20 over the past years. I received one bad one. it had a little rust in it but I just changed it with the part store.i wish it was still cheaper than in the stores so i could continue buy more. I would still recommend this if you can afford it.

The unit is smaller than the 1010 that was recommended previously, seems like it could cause flow issues or less ability to clean the oil due to smaller surface area. I will not order this size again for my 2008 Titan but will go back to the old 1010 part number.

This is the only oil filter I will use on our Honda Accord.

As per normal with K&N filters it’s super easy to use and has the nut on the end of the filter in case you need to get it off for the next oil change.
