Did a good job ... and only took a few hours.

Installed on both PCs (Win 7 to Win 10. Ran program. After two hours of searching for information from old PC, I called support, spent 2 hours on the phone without problem resolution. They had my try different versions. No help would not install on Win 7. Havent heard from them since 3 days ago. Decided to do it the old fashioned way. Fed up with Laplink.

Ive been using Laplink products for over 20 years. Not only do the products work but their customer support is great. Made switching to a new computer seamless.

I hung on to WinXP as long as possible. It worked well, did everything I needed, no reason to change until MS cut off support. Now, ditto with Win7. Like switching to a Flexfuel vehicle during the Obama administration, switching to sooner to Win10 is probably preferable to later. All the online reviews I read agreed PCmover is the way to go for migrating programs and data from your old machine to a new one. The reviews arent wrong. With the exception of one or two (ancient but beloved) legacy programs, everything transferred intact without a hitch, including notoriously proprietary programs like QuickBooks. Friendly advice 1: Follow instructions, especially disabling Sleep and Hibernation Modes. Friendly Advice 2: If you dont already own a high-speed USB-to-USB transfer cable, purchase the PCmover version that includes one. Just do it. Youll thank me. My complete transfer never required assistance from Tech Support.

Tried to load and reload 3 times. Had a Dell tech in house and we could not get program to analyze the old computer. Processing wheel spinning for hours both days we tried. Not real user friendly. Went ahead and bought thumb drive and did it manually!

It worked in that I got my documents and essential application software transferred to my new HP computer. However I was very disappointed that the USB cord connection did not work and I had to dependent on my slow Internet to move the files. It took over 24 hours, but thankfully it did. I had to wake my computers up multiple times. Was it worth the cost ? I guess it was but only 3 stars.

I am a daily PC Laptop user related to being in the process of writing two books, publishing a monthly multi-page newsletter for my Jeepster Club, and producing/editing video for my local cable access TV show Pete on the Street on TCAM TV -Taunton Community Access & Media Inc. My Laptop was getting old and having cooling issues.

Good value for shifting from an old PC to a new one

Surely wish I did not buy this. Not because I wasted my money but cost me about a month in working with it trying to get it to work. And I was going from Windows 10 to Windows 10. Geesh.

LapLink is an excellent program to transfer files and applications from one computer to another. However, I would recommend using a external drive with 500GB to transfer the files from your old computer, then connect the external drive to the new computer and begin transferring files.
