Works well, I only run it on low, so I dont even hear it run. I just set it, and fill it. I think it is fantastic. I think its a pain you have to use an app to adjust settings. Im an old man, not really up on the smart appliance era stuff. But I did figure out how to download app and adjust setting to my desired levels. I did have an issue around the 3rd mo. of use. The tank developed a small crack ( I guess from some kind stress), which grew everyday. I thought Id try the contact seller option, and see if I could get any solution to this problem. Levoit has a phone number to call, but a recording tells you there is no one to answer the phone (why is there a phone number?). But to go online and leave a message, they will get back to you in a day or two. That is what I did ( wishing I could actually talk to a real live person). But CJ messaged me back within days. There were a few massages back and forth, and he requested my Amazon receipt and pics of my cracked tank. As I stated earlier I am not so digitally savvy, but finally got through that process. CJ got back to me and thanked me for the information he requested. He said he would check options for my problem. By this time the crack had reached the bottom of the tank, but still not leaking yet so I was still using it. In Nebraska you need to put moisture in your home in winter, or everything dries out including me. Anyway I am very happy to say CJ said he would send a new unit to me, and not to send my cracked unit to them. Around a week later I have a new humidifer. Even though I never got to verbalize with a human, I am very pleased and satisfied with CJs resolve in this case, and thank him for his professionalism. I would hesitate to purchase products from them in the future.

I was looking for a humidifier for our bedroom and initially bought a Vornado model. It definitely performed the job, but BOY was it noisy. Not just the distinct continuous whirring of the humidifier, but a periodic GLUG-GLUG-GLUG ever 30mins or so. Really not suitable for a bedroom. So I went to NYT Wirecutter and looked at their recommendations, settling for this Levoit. Night and day difference! Here is how it is better than the Vornado: * in automatic sleep mode, its so close to silent that it doesnt matter. It delivers humidity easily well enough to be on the other side of the room and I can just barely hear when it is operating, really just the sound of steam escaping. No whirring, clunking or gurgling whatsoever. * thank heavens! a sleep mode where all the lights and displays are 100% turned off. I dont need a light display in my room at night, thanks * top-filling reservoir. The Vornado needed you to remove the reservoir and fill it upside down. This leads to the worrying situation where if you knock the device or mishandle it at all, it might dump the entire contents of the reservoir instantly onto the floor. This is dumb. Its also the reason that the Levoit doesnt glug-glug-glug. * the app is pretty good. Some have complained that it spams you with emails and stuff - it does by default, but you can switch all that off. The app itself makes it easy to set up a schedule where it automatically comes on at - say - 7pm, and switches itself off at 6am, constantly monitoring the humidity and keeping it at 55%, with all the lights stay off all the time. The Vornado could not do this (or I couldnt figure out how to) My only complaint is that although it keeps bugging me to clean it (probably a good idea) its not really clear what an acceptable amount of cleaning is, it just tells you to disassemble it. Otherwise, its an impressively designed and functional piece of equipment. (full disclosure, I used to be a product designer, so I respect the thought and care that went into this device - the team should feel proud or themselves!)

If youre in the market for a humidifier, let me tell you, you cant go wrong with the LEVOIT Humidifier. Not only does it work like a charm, but it also has some fantastic features that make it the Cadillac of humidifiers. First off, lets talk about the size. This thing is perfect for large rooms, so if youre trying to humidify a small closet, you might want to look elsewhere. But if youre like me and you need something to cover a lot of square footage, this is the humidifier for you. One thing I absolutely love about this humidifier is the top-fill feature. Its so much easier than having to unscrew the bottom and fill it up from there. With the LEVOIT, you simply remove the lid and pour in your water. Its that simple. But wait, theres more! This humidifier also doubles as an essential oil diffuser. I love adding a few drops of lavender or eucalyptus to the water and letting it fill my bedroom with a delightful scent. Its like having a spa in my own home! Now lets talk about the smart app and voice control. Yes, you read that right. You can control this humidifier with your voice! I feel like Im living in the future every time I tell Alexa to turn on my humidifier. Plus, the app allows you to set your desired humidity level and even track the humidity levels in your room over time. Talk about high-tech! And if youre worried about noise, fear not. This humidifier has a quiet sleep mode, so you can leave it running all night without it disturbing your slumber. In fact, I find the white noise it produces to be quite soothing. Overall, I highly recommend the LEVOIT Humidifier. Its powerful, convenient, and even a little bit fancy with all its high-tech features. So go ahead and treat yourself (and your plants and baby) to a little extra moisture in the air. You wont regret it! 1. Choose the right size: Make sure to choose a humidifier that is the right size for the room. A unit that is too small will not be effective, while one that is too large can lead to excess moisture and mold growth. 2. Use distilled water: Using distilled water in your humidifier can help prevent mineral buildup and bacteria growth. 3. Clean regularly: Regular cleaning is important to prevent bacteria and mold growth. Follow the manufacturers instructions for cleaning and disinfecting your humidifier. 4. Change filters: If your humidifier has a filter, make sure to change it regularly according to the manufacturers instructions. 5. Control humidity levels: Use a hygrometer to measure the humidity levels in the room and adjust the humidifier accordingly. A humidity level of 30-50% is generally recommended. 6. Use the right type of water: Depending on the type of humidifier you have, you may need to use a specific type of water. For example, ultrasonic humidifiers may require demineralized water. 7. Place in a safe location: Make sure to place your humidifier in a safe location, away from electrical outlets and other hazards. Also, keep it out of reach of children and pets. 8. Use essential oils safely: If you want to add essential oils to your humidifier, make sure to use ones that are safe for use with humidifiers and follow the manufacturers instructions. 9. Empty the tank when not in use: If you are not using your humidifier for an extended period of time, make sure to empty the tank and clean it thoroughly before storing. 10. Use as directed: Always follow the manufacturers instructions for use and maintenance of your humidifier to ensure safe and effective operation.

Youll definitely need to filter your water at worst or distill it at best before you use it in this humidifier. All of the minerals in the water you use end up in the air (par for the course for ultrasonics) while this thing is running. Without filtering, Im measuring PM2.5 and PM10 levels up in the upper 100s. Thats like theres a wildfire 20 miles away pollution. After I filter it through a basic Brita-style filter, theyre back around 30-50 with the door open and 80-100 after several hours of the door being closed. Thats like stagnant air in the valley today pollution. And then of course they fall back down to 5-10 when the thing isnt running (normal day outside). The smart feature is useful, but still a little dumb. Its hygrometer is in its base, so its measuring humidity directly around itself. Its usually reading a relative humidity 3-4 points higher than hygrometers I have in other parts of my room (its a kid-bedroom-sized guitar room). The smartness is that you set a target humidity and the machine lets humidity around it fluctuate within 5 points of that target. So, I set the target to 45%. Over the course of a day, the thing turns on until humidity hits 50%. Then it turns off until humidity falls to 40%. Then the cycle repeats. Useful that it does keep your room in the ballpark you want. But 10 points is a wide margin. It means that my guitars on the wall are sometimes seeing 53-55% or 35-40%. It would be extremely useful to set a narrower band around the target value (say 2 points, so 43%-47%). That would give me better control over the parts of the room where humidity actually matters. Cleaning is also something of a hassle. Recommended to rinse it out every three days to avoid bacteria and mold buildup. That means unplugging the base and sort of awkwardly splashing water into it while avoiding the plug and electronics. Very quiet. A very faint hum and then some ASMR-style dripping is what you get while its running. Thats great.

It really puts moisture into the air quickly and is super quiet. Very easy to use. I havent even set it up on the app yet to use the smart features. I just put it on automatic and it runs at a very high level until it reaches 50% humidity and then it adjusts accordingly. If you couldnt visually see the moisture coming out of it, you would have to keep checking that its on because its so quiet. Im going to buy a second one for the upstairs.

It does work amd like how it shows the humidity levels however, this is definitely made for small spaces. It says 500 sq ft but I think its better suited for more like 300 sq ft. I like that it doesnt take up much space. Make sure you are rinsing it out every few days! I notice 1 week of usage is too long and there is buildup starting to grow. Also would only recommend soft tap water. If your place is dry this will run non stop so buying water would be expensive. From what I read hard water leaves a white film over your home.
