LG UltraFine UHD 27-Inch 4K UHD 2160p Computer Monitor 27UN850-W, IPS with VESA DisplayHDR 400, AMD FreeSync, and USB-C, White

I have tried three different 4k monitors and this one is hands down the only usable one (probably the best under $400). Its totally compatible with my M1 Macbook Pro, and give good use experience when plugged in. Picture quality is really nice and I have nothing to complain about it.

Although I am aware this is a productivity monitor first, I was in the market for a 4K60 Monitor that could game well and would not break the bank. I am used to gaming on console so 120FPS support was not something I required as I am satisfied with 60FPS. I did endless amounts of research on various brands in this pricepoint to figure out what would be the best monitor in terms of screen quality and response time. This specific model did not have many reviews in terms of gaming performance, however I did know that LG makes great gaming monitors, this one has a game mode, and I was already looking at the LG 4K model priced below this one. When this model went on sale, I took a risk and purchased it over other highly praised monitors in this price point not knowing if it would be good for gaming, and I can answer that YES it is! Starting with screen quality, brightness is great, contrast is beyond expectation, white, gray, and black uniformity are all top notch, with little to no IPS glow. Colors are accurate and the resolution keeps things sharp. No complaints. For gaming, when you put this monitor directly side by side with a high refresh gaming monitor, it is extremely noticeable that this will not be as fast of a monitor as something gaming dedicated in terms of response time, however it is much more responsive than a normal 60FPS TV or other productivity based screens. I also have a 15 inch macbook retina display, and the response time on this monitor is atleast twice as good. Unless you are an ultra competitive high refresh gaming enthusiast, you will not notice any kind of input lag or poor pixel response in this monitor. It is just as good or better than playing console on a high end TV, and in gaming scenarios, I personally can not tell the difference between the response time on this monitor and my LG gaming monitor. It is only when using UFOTest that the difference becomes very apparent, and this mainly comes down to the difference in FPS. If I ran my dedicated LG gaming monitor at 60FPS, the response would be about the same. In short, if you are used to gaming on console with a TV and are looking for a responsive 60FPS display to prioritize image quality and play mostly singly player games with high settings, get this one and you will not have any regrets. If you are looking for the fastest thing in gaming and play mostly multiplayer competitive games you shouldnt even be reading this review. If you CAN afford it, I would highly recommend a 4K120 gaming monitor for the best of both worlds. In this price point with realistic expectations in mind, this is a fantastic monitor!

Color looks exactly the same with my Apple devices

Picture quality is good. I tried contacting amazon for an issue regarding speakers but they didn’t help me. The speakers doesn’t work with macbook.

Like a lot of people, I was trying to find the perfect 4k monitor with USB-C capability to have a display for my MacBook Air M1. This monitor is great because not only is the text sharp but it also charges your MacBook. This is easy to use and worked straight out of the box.

Love this monitor! Im a graphic designer and was in search of a match for the macbook pro to upgrade my work from home situation! I had been given several recommendations, read a gazillian reviews and also I could not justify buying the $700 ultrafine mac pairing for a merely 24 screen. Among the recs, on the line comparison from amazon, this showed up and after reading the reviews (which were all great!!) I decided to give it a try. The monitor itself has a nice weight to it, so it does not wabble and is sturdy. I calibrated it with just messing around the tools and settings, and it was calibrated within a couple tries(and I am not super comp savvy). The speakers work great for zoom calls and the knob is easy to navigate - I also purchased the insurance just in case. So far so good! Im super stoked with my decision!

Easy - connect your PC with display port, use one of the HDMI inputs for your 4k Roku stick, do some PC tasks, then take a break and watch a movie on Netflix or Amazon. **Nice bright picture with HDR. You can adjust picture mode individually in display port, and HDMI, etc. I have it set for HDR effect for both DP and HDMI. **Having an IPS panel means super rich, and vibrant colors. **Also, 350 nits of brightness is plenty bright for HDR! Note: This LG 27UN850-W 27 Inch Ultrafine UHD Monitor also has a USB C-port that can charge your laptop or cell phone. Allows you to display whats on your cell, or laptop directly on the monitor just by plugging into the USB C-port, while also charging the connected device. ***I have NOT used the USB C-port yet, as I purchased this monitor mainly for connecting my Dell desktop PC using the Display Port, and for using my 4K Roku stick (HDMI port) for watching NETFLIX and AMAZON Prime movies. Running this on a Macbook Air 2018. Its great, once its configured at a proper resolution -- almost as good a screen as the Airs own Retina. Has a matte finish, but thats no issue to me. Displays text and graphics quite sharply. The only drawback is that I also tested it with a 2014 Mac Mini, and for that there is simply no adequate resolution that looks good, even via the utility SwitchResX which is my go-to in such cases. But with modern hardware I wouldnt think anybody would have cause for complaint, and I certainly like both the USB-C cable for delivering power to my laptop and the extra ports on the back, including two USB-3 ports I use for things like external drives. Highly recced. You wont likely be sorry.

Excellent screen resolution as used for the main screen for coding and creating in Blender with my 2019 MacBook Pro 16, but THIS IS NOT THE ULTRAFINE AS LISTED. I am still keeping the product as it is a great price for the quality, but buyer beware! The built-in speakers are not good when compared to the built-in speakers of the MacBook I am using. Also when it is first hooked up make sure to uncheck High Dynamic Range in the settings so the colors actually match your built-in retina display colors.
