Perches that have the same diameter and width are not good for birds, they need the natural changes of diameters, and not only that, because these are naturally not smooth, the bird love to use it to rub their heads. I own a lot of birds, I love them and only will buy the best for them, and so far these perches are the best.

Having had pets including birds for 50+ years, I have seen a lot of products. I am about to move my parakeets and cockatiels into one large cage. I decided on these perches though they are not very long. But wth the two different diameters, they would be good exercise for cockatiels and parakeets. Plus I decided that with the shorter length, I could have them mounted around the exterior, leaving the center open for more flight.

I purchased these perches for multiple Serama pairs we have set up in rabbit cages like the one on the picture. The washers sent with the perches are too small for the wire openings. I decided to keep mine and and just buy bigger washers at the hardware store. I would like the perches to have been a little bigger/longer as well. Good quality though.

Received them and put one of each kind on my birdies cage. I thought it would take some time before they approached the new perches, but,no, they jumped right on them and started chewing. They seem to prefer the bumpy ones. Thought they were a good price for 4. Some I looked at in the pet stores were $ 9.00 - $16.00 for 1 depending on length. Would buy again, but these will last.
