I’ve been looking for a backpack that I could use as an International carry on and was thrilled to find this one. I measured it as 20.5 x 15”. This bag has so many features which is impressive for the price. It comes with four additional bags which I will definitely use at some point. The backpack straps are comfortable and the chest clip is invaluable when you are having to move quickly. The section for the laptop is extra padded and there is additional padding on the lower back for comfort. I especially like the option to enclose the straps inside the bag and use it like a suitcase without the straps hanging all over the place. The handles aren’t exactly comfortable for me, but should meld to my smaller hand size in time. Overall, the buckles and zippers seem to be good quality as well as the construction. I don’t think it compares with my TUMI luggage, but this bag offers a lot for the price. This bag is everything I was looking for and If it doesn’t meet my expectations after my first trip, I will provide an update.

This is the bag I wish I had when I traveled for Business and it is just as good now. First what I like: >> This bag is convertible; meaning, you can use it as a backpack and/or a suitcase. The backpack straps easily disconnect at the bottom and can be tucked away inside a zippered pouch. (As the two photos show) >> It is expandable. The photos show it expanded to a width of about 9 inches. Zippered up, it is about 6 inches. >>> It is well constructed. Its many zippers work flawlessly and easily every time. All the stitching is tight. >>> There are a lot of pouches/zippered compartments to put items; including pens/pencils, usb charges, paperwork, etc. >>> It also comes with three (3) of additional zippered containers and a drawstring bag. (See photo) Two of the added zippered containers have a mesh side on them. I use them for dirty laundry on my trip. The clear plastic and the drawstring bag I have not used yet. Now for my dislike: >>> This first one is the sword’s second edge to being well constructed with quality material: It weights about four (4) pounds with the included pouches. So a bit heavier than my other backpack bags. And that is my only dislike about the bag. If you are interested in a good carry on bag for the train or airlines; or just a weekender or even a week long bag this is it. This is definitely my new go-to bag for most of my future trips. Oh, one last note. I am able to put a weeks worth of clothes & toiletries in it, my wife cannot.

Awesome backpack. I travel 2 days out of every week for work, and this hasnt been challenged as my personal item by any airline since I take a rolling carry-on filled with my work items. I fit a change or two of clothes, a pair of shoes, toiletries, etc., and it all fits...without me even having to open up the expansion zipper. I have bought so many rolling bags, backpacks, duffel, etc., to use for my work travel in the past two years, but this is really all I needed. So much money wasted! Well, at least now I have what I need...as long as my husband doesnt steal it from me. Im going to have to get one for him, I think, because he was really impressed with mine.

My Husband is becoming an expert with these carry-on backpack/suitcases which he prefers over a rolling bag. He likes carrying everything on his back so he has the ability to help me and our kids with his free hands. He has bought several carry-on size backpacks (between 35-45L). The Yeti Crossroads, the Patagonia Black Hole and a bag from Target. The Yeti Crossroads was 35L and it did not expand, and was therefore too small for my husbands frame. If the Yeti was 45L we probably would have kept it, but the $250 price point was a bit high for what it was. The 2nd bag we purchased was a $60 Target Made By Design convertible backpack. The Made By Design bag held way more than you would have ever thought, unfortunately the durability was a issue and after two trips the zippers separated from the fabric and we returned it. My husband currently uses a Patagonia Black Hole MLC 45 which he is thrilled with - good quality, durable, and will last forever. But not cheap at $250 So now lets talk about this backpack! Since this backpack is unbranded for ease we will call it by the store name selling Molnia. I find the Molnia bag to be of similar quality to other bags in this price range. I would imagine if you do not over pack it or abuse the back it will hold up well. The Molnia has no water deterrent/ water resistant characteristics in fact if you plan to spend time in the outdoors in a wet climate, then this is probably not the bag for you. Size: It is listed as 47L with expansion however it certainly feels and is smaller than the Patagonia 45L bag. I don’t know how they measure these bags but it is shorter and not as deep as Patagonia. So if the Patagonia bag is 45L. Then this feels more like 43L. Exterior: I really like the ability to bury the shoulder straps in the pocket. Which is a big plus If you ever flying and need to check the bag. In addition, it can be carried like a suitcase. The clasps and straps, handles are well attached and should provide some durability. The Molnia bag has plenty of outer compartments to hold items which need quick access. Interior: The main section for clothing is roomy, well constructed and has two compartments for organization. One side is a large pouch the other side is open like a suitcase with cross straps. They provided several interior bags for packing: toiletries, a larger bag, smaller bag and shoe bag. Unfortunately they arent the best quality - but they are decent. I would use them all except for the toiletries bag. The third compartment for computers and electronics is ver well padded and has plenty of compartments to hold your electronics in place. The interior computer sleeve easily holds my 17 inch laptop with a strong velcro latch to hold it in place. In sum: Overall I think it is a great value at this price point, well constructed, looks nice and is very well padded. For a weekend jaunt its a great bag at this price point. I just wish it was water-resistant.

    Greater than one week

I like this backpack quite a lot. It holds sooooo much stuff. especially once you expand it, you can really get a lot in there. The packing cubes it came with are also great. It fit about a week worth of summer outfits and 2 pairs of sandals, along with my work stuff (computer, notebooks, headphones). Seems quite sturdy, but have only used it a few times so we will see

And ultimately, settled on something else instead, however there wasnt anything about this backpack that I didnt like. It was totally fine - I just felt like the placement of the compartments on the other backpack I did end up taking, was more suitable for my needs on our trip. Its a great generic backpack for anyone going to school or looking to use it for work.

This isnt a typical backpack. Its very spacious and it have a ALOT of pockets. Theres even a spot for a laptop. I tend to overpack in a overnight bag, a overhead size suitcase(even with packing cubes) but I think this will work for me. I havent been traveling lately but Im definitely trying this bag out.

This product is awesome, especially if you travel by plane a lot and want to fit everything into one backpack! I like how it expands in size depending on your needs. And all the various pockets are very useful, especially if traveling with a laptop or tablet, as it has a protecting sleeve for those items. The packing cubes and shoe bag are very useful as well. I like the straps, they are very comfortable and I like that it has a handle on the top and the side for easy access and carrying the bag when maneuvering through the airport, especially to get through security. Awesome product for a great price. I would recommend to anyone who travels a lot.

I returned this item because when I took it out of the box it felt heavy & it was empty! It looked well made and had several storage pockets, it was just too heavy for me to use.
