> 3 dayWhatever you do, buy this as a case fan. If you plan on using this over a heat sink or for CPU or radiator cooling please consider the NF-F12 also made by Noctua. The Black version is trash.

> 3 dayTengo varios ventiladores de Noctua y nunca me han decepcionado. En este caso, venía en un estuche perfectamente presentado y probablemente sea tan silencioso como promete. El caso es que no he podido instalarlo en una workstation Z4 G4 de HP porque el conector de 4 pines viene moldeado de tal modo que es incompatible. Esto no es culpa de Noctua, sino de HP, pero creo que debería estar indicado con más claridad en la descripción del producto: si el ordenador es de marca, mejor ni lo intentes.

Greater than one weekwow. my CPU water cooler fan was squealing so bad that my dog would leave the room when i started a game. this fan is near silent at full speed and knocked a few degrees off running temperature.

> 3 dayNoctua is known for their low volume and high airflow, and now I see why. Great fans.

> 3 dayAs described, it is VERY quiet (especially when compared to the expired chassis fan that I replaced with it), and it moves a lot of air---no way to measure it scientifically, but the deflecting paper test suggests that the claimed CFM rating is probably close (obviously it will differ depending on the differential in static pressures on either side of the fan). Anyhow, it works for me.

> 3 dayGot a couple for my case as the stock ones gave off a bit of a hum that became irritating. Not the cheapest but more than happy with the result as I find them exceptionally quiet.

Greater than one weekI am using the Noctua NF-S12A (4-pin) fan as a single exhaust fan with no additional case fans. I replaced an Antec Silent variable speed fan that came with my case when the bearings started to go. I thought Antec fan was quiet but the Noctua NF-S12A is essentially silent when running idle add pushes a lot of air. The Noctua NF-S12A fan is a little pricey but this fan is exceptional. The fan comes with rubber anti-vibration connectors, an extension cable, a y-extension cable and a low noise adapter cable (has a resistor to slow fan speed down. I have the case mounted under the desk and even without using the low noise adapter or the anti-vibrations connectors, the fan is silent. I would highly recommend this fan for anyone concerned about noise in small shared spaces.
