I liked it so much about a second mat that was a little bit smaller. When I unpackaged it, I rolled it backwards and smoothed it down. Then I laid it on the floor facedown and put two reams of paper on each end. The ends are flat this evening.

It doesnt slide easily at all and I think it stays in place pretty well (though I am not using a typical desk so im not sure how it would do on wood)
