The stand seems to work great so far. I have an IPad 4 and it holds it without using the sticky base. I like the sticky base option though. It will make it much more stable and less likely to get bumped over. It’s great the it can be reused multiple times too.

I purchased this item because I hate my iPad case. I have not been able to find a nice case that holds my iPad at the desired angle I need, so instead of continually wasting money on worthless cases I purchased this stand and it is awesome. Very durable and I can toss it in my suitcase and use my iPad while traveling. I am able to leave my iPad in the case and still use the stand so that makes it very convenient. Love it and highly recommend this stand.

I always used a spider type stand for my IPad but this stand is so much smaller and very light but sturdy. I am using it right now to type my review. You may move it to different angles, which is good for viewing and typing. Bought a smaller version for my husband for his IPhone and he really likes it. I also use mine for my phone. It really alleviates neck pain.
