OWC 2.0TB Aura Pro X2 NVMe Flash SSD Add-On Solution Compatible with Mac Mini (Late 2014), Including Tools & Installation Components

I pains me to write this review as OWC has been my go-to for mac supplies over the past 20 years. I ordered the 1TB Aura Pro X3 SSD with tools and Installation components. Only the SSD was shipped to me. Ill amend this review if this situation can be resolved quickly.

This drive worked very well for me. The included tool set was a big bonus, and the video instructions on how to install were clear and informative; installation was a breeze. The drive is very fast, and has cut down load/save time by nearly 50% versus the original drive. Very happy with the purchase.

The kit pretty much comes with everything you need. There are videos online that take you step by step through taking the unit apart and putting it back together. I didnt use the new connector choosing instead to just use the existing one. I did not need any tech support to get the job done.

Installed the SSD into my 2014 13 Macbook Pro. Made a timemachine backup of previous drive onto an external then swapped. When booting back into recovery mode the disk was not showing up at first. I removed the drive and reinstalled it and restarted the device twice and the drive showed up. i have almost 9x more storage and my speeds have doubled if you believe you can do this project you can. I have very little experience with this stuff i was just bored.

There are few times when adding something to a computer that completely changes it. I was ready to get rid of my Mac Mini. It had good horse power, but a lousy HD. Now with this kit, it is a new machine. Everything you need came with the kit. Installation took minutes. Formatting was super quick. It works and feels like a super fast Mac Now. Boot times have gone from minutes to seconds. I run multiple monitors and it used to take forever to get them to mirror because of the old HD. Not any more. Everything is up and running in less than a minute. I highly recommend this product. Purchase the largest you can afford. You will not be disappointed in the results!!!

I was a bit nervous about installing this in my older Mac mini (2014) but it took only a few minutes and the tools worked perfectly. The machine has been running great now for over 1 month with no issues -- it feels like I have a NEW machine!

Installation was easy and it vastly accelerated my mac mini.

I had minimal issues. Got my old 256G drive replace with the massive drive and all is good.
