> 24 hourIve been a VERY happy owner of the 1st version of this device. I keep it on my refrigerator to control all of the lights in the kitchen. This is due to the fact that the wall switch is in an inconvenient location. When I saw this new version I thought I would update. And while the addition of having a dedicated button for light themes, the omission of dedicated magnets on the base mean that you cannot simply put this new version on a steel surface. To get the same functionality, you would have to remove the base, then the magnets on the remote will work fine. Nice and strong. Caveat, the remote on the old original version was not magnetic and so the base was required. While this post no problem for me as I prefer to have the base remain where it was, the new version allows you to discard the base entirely and simply place the remote on whatever steel structure you have. The benefit there, is a smaller footprint for the switch. I still prefer to have the magnets on the base and be able to pull the remote off, but that is a personal preference. The old switch and base were thicker quality plastic, glossy. The new is matte finish and feels thin and flimsy, but Im sure thats to allow the magnets in the remote to get through to whatever steel surface you may be using. Its a small detail but that just means that I would either have to store the cheap, flimsy, plastic base somewhere or discard it and hope I dont need it in the future. But for those who are using the adhesives on the back to stick on a wall, this is a non-issue for you. The integration was incredibly quick. When I opened the Alexa app on my phone, it had already detected the new device and asked me to configure. The process was quick and painless, select the group, room, or lights and rename. That was it. All in all this is a solid update, I just would prefer that the base was not so light, flimsy, and cheap. All in all, a great quality product and one that I definitely recommend. If Amazon allowed I would give it 4.5 Stars out of 5.

> 24 hourWorks well. Sticks to the wall and the remote itself is magnetized, which is a really nice touch. The instructions are a little outdated however, but once I looked them up on hues website setup was very quick.

> 24 hourI wanted to be able to control my Hue lights through the physical switch along with the app. The installation was really easy and at first, everything seemed great. However, a couple of weeks in, Im noticing that the switch only turns on / off the lights about 75% of the time. You may be thinking well thats not too bad but oh, it is. A light switch is binary, and needs to work 100% of the time - without fail. Nobody wants to be fussing around with a light app when the physical switch should be working 100% of the time. Im not sure if there is some connection or sync issue, but its annoying, and I would not recommend this product. Another minor complaint is; when you flip the switch on or off, the lights slowly fade on and off. Its not instant, how I want it, or how a normal switch works. So, you always have this 2-3 second delay, and you never really know if its working before then. As far as I can tell, this cannot be configured any other way. Your lights and physical switch will become out of sync - Let me explain. I guess there is no real way around this, but if youre OCD it might bother you. Say you turn on the light through the app, but the physical switch is in the down off position. Next, you flip the physical switch to the up on position, this will turn off your light. So now the physical switch is opposite of normal light behavior. Its in the up on position, but the light is off. Im guessing this is working as intended, so I cant really complain.

> 24 hourSwitch works well. You need the latest app to be able to recognize and setup. After that the setup is easy. I bought two. Enjoy having a rotary switch for the dimmer. I replaced the orignal, square ,white version 1.

> 24 hourThis integrated super well with my Hue system and lots of options for controlling lights. Love the 4 separate switches that can be customized and the rotating dimmer knob. It IS pricey but for integration and control of the hue lights its very worth it. I am definitely finding myself using the physical buttons more than my app lately to control my lights! LOVE that theres both black and white to choose from and wish the other switches had similar color options.

> 24 hourTitle says it all, Alexa splashed all over the place here, but it works great with Google too. All the Philips Hue stuff is unreasonably expensive - seriously. However! It does all work very well. I got this v2 dimmer switch and half a dozen light bulbs and a light strip for my house for Halloween and it was friggin sweet. The app is solid, works very well. Setting up the account online was dumb - had to disable the VPN on my phone (enabled by default cos Google Pixel phone uses the Google One VPN to secure my interwebs) cos it couldnt detect the bridge with it on. Once I figured that out, though, it found and connected it to my account quickly. The good thing about Hue products is they just work. Products are good quality. But damn do you pay for it. And Im an idiot so I plan to get more. Going for the Sync box and some lights for the TV. Cos pretty lights. Do it for the blinkies.

> 24 hourYes, they are expensive, but they do what they are supposed to do. If you have a light that gets lots of action on a daily basis from the regular house residents and guests, then this is the solution. This is needed to avoid that pesky flip of the switch to turn off the Hue Lights that should always be on. Heck I live in my house and at times STILL flip the switch by accident! :-). This will keep those lights on no matter what! If the switch is on, GREAT, no issues, but if someone flips the switch to off, then still, GREAT, the lights will still work as they should due to this module always being on. Folk complaining that they are cheaper solutions, are just just being too picky. I mean, this solution lasts for years on the battery before you have to replace it. That’s a long time and longer than some people keep their cars. You don’t hear them complaining about that large purchase and wishing they went for the cheaper solution. Just get it cause it works and will work for the time you have it.

> 24 hourI had some bulbs that were quite far away from the Hue bridge. I bought this to plug it in closer to the bridge, thus acting as an extender to get a stronger signal to the lights that were having connection issues. Works well for this... although a bit of an expensive solution.

> 24 hourIn our house, some people prefer a physical switch still for turning the light on or off. This was our solution, it makes our smart lights dumb again and it’s perfect. We can still control by app or voice, but now we have a switch as well. No wiring needed and works great for those lamps that are difficult to get to anyways. We bought a second for another room and both have been working great with no issues.
