The almost 10-inch screen lets me read larger type, and still have a decent amount of words on the screen. It sucks, getting old. The touchscreen is a bit sluggish, but you get used to that kind of thing, at my age.

I bought this ebook as a Christmass gift to myself and must say - it is the best gift for last 10 years. This is my 5th ebook and first one which has EVERYTHING right out of the box. My library id mostly in fb2 format which is not supported by Kindle or Kobo. Pocketbook reads it as native. PDF, RTF, DJVU, DOC, TXT, the other formats I have my books in - read without any issue. The book has only 8Gb internal memory, but it was enough to put there already 1500 files. Plus there is a micro sd card slot for up to 128 Gb which I intend to use soon. Battery works very solid - I spent whole evening yesterday by reading and it didnt even drop charge by 5%. Touch screen is very responsive and scaling fonts is very easy - it is just pleasure to my eyes to set comfortable font. In general it is very good and reliable ebook. I recommend it to anyone who likes to read, you will enjoy and never regret.

Low RAM, low PPI, old 2-core processor: This thing should be a dog. Its not, though. Its great. Its fast and responsive, the screen is clear, and Pocketbooks software will let you read anything but DRM Amazon and reflow it, too (Perfect for textbooks). In the rare case that something isnt compatible, you can install KoReader, which is compatible with everything else and will still use the devices buttons. Compared to some competitors, it even offers expandable storage and a temperature-adjustable frontlight. If you dont like the buttons on the right side, just flip it over. This is a great device, and I wish I had bought it as soon as it came out. I bought this thing in a pinch when my previous large screen reader suddenly quit responding to inputs. Both devices are 9.6, just big enough to read textbooks and other stuff one might print to a standard-sized piece of paper. Just crop out the white border. 10.3 is becoming more popular, but carrying something around with those dimensions is harder. I have no regrets about this purchase. If youre looking for a large screen reader but dont need to write on the screen (which you still can technically), this is the one. Dont bother looking at the other options that are sometimes hundreds of dollars more.

I waited for quite a while to upgrade to a new e-reader without Android on it. My old e-reader was an Onyx Boox i86 and this reader is a big upgrade compared to that one. It is fast and responsive, with a great user interface. Im very happy with it so far.

fantastic screen and effective night-light. good battery life and expandable storage. the reader has a file manager and books can be transferred from a SD card to the internal memory. the interface is ok but Id prefer a simple e-reader without too much androidish interface. the e-reader does not like cold temperatures and humid conditions affects the operation (random page turns...). Im very happy with the purchase. June 2023: the reader also supports OTG that easily enables the transfer of books from a memory stick to internal memory or the installed SD card.

Im a long time Kobo user but wanted to get a larger screen to read graphic novels. Pocketbook Inkpad came highly recommended and Im completely satisfied. Seller sent quickly and packed it well. I love it.

I am just thrilled that I can now easily read all of my my math, science, and art books!!! No more micro-pages!!! The screen is crisp and the back lighting is very good. You can adjust practically any setting to your preference. Yes, it is a little sluggish on boot-up, but once its up and running, it turns even the most bit-dense pdf pages plenty fast enough. It comes pre-loaded with a number of classic works in a couple of dozen languages. Note: Only the file format FAT32 is supported for the SD card. Windows systems want to format anything larger than 32GB using exFAT, which is not supported. (No problem for 32GB and smaller.) You *can* format your 64GB SD card using FAT32 by employing Windows Powershell or a third-party tool. Use your favorite search engine to locate instructions or the 3rd party formatting tool. Be careful to format the correct drive, not drive C. If you are unsure, get some help. Heres the bonus: As I was reading an epub book in French, I highlighted a word and a context menu appeared. I tapped the little dictionary icon *** and it gave me the English translation!*** What a wonderful feature! This wonderful device makes reading easy in *every* respect. Id highly recommend getting a case for this reader. Its outside dimensions are 9 3/8 x 6 7/8. Enjoy!

Its capacity doesnt leave me wanting much more, I havent even touched the SD card yet. The screen is nice and crisp for what it is. As long as you understand the limitation of e ink screens. Its size is a huge plus for me. I love larger e readers, and this is the one Im happiest with so far. Being able to easily transfer books over with my phone is nice if its just a single book, and I use the pc cable for the rest. I love having buttons on the side, since I prefer the feel over just touch screen scrolling If I had to complain about anything, they would be minor annoyances. The wifi is sort of slow, but thats to be expected. I just use the cable for most book transfers. The company doesnt sell the case for this one anymore it seems? I just got a cute one from Walmart instead, so thats fine or w/e. My biggest two complaints are simply. The wakeup from sleep function can be a bit slow, so I find myself pushing the power button a few times trying to figure out if its slow or I didnt hit it long enough. Using the turn oage button on pdfs tends to turn it a weird amount instead of just to the next page. Like a page and 15%. And my biggest complaint is simply that theres no night mode for the reader. Its not the worst since you can turn on the warmlight all the way and it doesnt hurt your eyes as much at night, but Id really appreciate black with white text for proper night reading. Truly a very solid eReader.

This is a decdnt e-ink reader. The writing on it is terrible, I wouldnt expect to accurately write on it. The buttons are hard to tell what they do, but you could probably just put stickers on the buttons. Pocketbook shouldve really put white stickers instead of being forced to turn on a light.

I bought two of these in May - my Wife and I have been using them daily since then. Im not aware of anything with a better screen at a better price. The size is just enough to read most PDFs without any zooming, and the bezel gives a comfortable handle for the device. My only two gripes are: 1) The buttons are all but invisible... even small markings would help, but a creative person can probably solve this on their own. 2) The power-up time is painful. You hold the power button for two seconds, and it takes about four more seconds before the device shows any activity. In the meantime, youre left to wonder if it recognized the power-on, because sometimes it doesnt. Otherwise, I love this thing. Color would be nice, but it wasnt worth the contrast and size trade-offs that Id have to make at this price point. Im still hoping that they might fix the power-on problem with an update (just flashing the backlight or charging indicator would do it), but I have no regrets. PocketBook doesnt seem to have much of a presence in the US, but their customer service has been responsive and helpful.
