> 3 dayThese nest box liners are so easy to use, are very economical and make it so easy to clean the nest box. Ive had occasional problems with a hen pecking eggs which makes a mess of the nest box but using these liners is no fuss. The paper on the base keeps moisture from getting to the wood below so clean up is just a matter of changing pads no major clean up necessary. You can fluff the straw up if you want a softer base for a nest and its all biodegradable so they just go in the compost when done.

Greater than one weekWhen we first got chickens I ordered several different nesting box liners. Coco fiber. Astro Turf style. And these. I put a combination of all of them into the 5 nesting boxes. 2 coco, 2 turf and 1 only these. I’d venture to say that 90% of the eggs laid in the first few months were on the 1 mat of this type. Every girl want to lay on these. Rarely on the other two types. I’ve since pulled all the others and replaced them with these. They aren’t washable like the turf ones but they are compostable and cost effective enough.

> 3 dayWe have tried all sorts of material for our chicken coop and nesting boxes. These hemp squares are by far the easiest to swap in and out and the girls love them. So very worth the money. We change them out about every six weeks or so though they could likely last longer if we chose to wait. Highly recommend. We throw them in our compost pile when were finished with them.

> 3 dayWorks well. I put a layer of straw on top. My top nest boxes sometimes are used as litter boxes for the chickens and their droppings just shake right off this.
