Greater than one weekInstalled in a Dell Inspiron 3670, directly on the motherboard slot and wow, boots in a flash! Bought another one for an older Dell XPS 8900 and kicked that PCs performance up too, way over what the original SATA SSD could do. I did need a PCIe extender card for the XPS to get all four lanes functional. No loss of speed or function on the extender card either.

> 3 dayThis is a fantastic drive and I have had no problems with it other then heat. My MOBO has the M.2 slot just under the CPU, an area that tends to get warm so that could contribute a bit. The controller temps tend to get around or over 70C at heavy load for me which is the throttle temp to protect the memory. Right now I am at 55C watching Twitch and writing this.

> 3 dayThis was as easy as any hard drive installation Ive ever done, and Ive done quite a few. For some reason, whoever made my Asus motherboard (Im talking about you Asus!) decided it would be a good idea to put thread locking compound on the tiny screws that hold the heat sink cover in place, which took me some effort to remove, but the hard drive installed seamlessly. Booted the computer with a USB boot drive to install Windows 10, and there wasnt a single hitch in the process. I then transferred 675gb of media from my old hard drive (Samsung 860 EVO) in 20 minutes. Steady transfer rate of 500MB/s. Love it.

16-12-2024For $199 plus tax, I would say the 2TB Samsung 970 evo plus is really good for its price. Its a better value than sata ssds of the same value and price. Its a couple less cables to deal with which is nice.
