> 3 dayI brought back an old Toshiba p845 from like 2012 to life recently, and replaced its original HDD with this SSD. If youre researching SSDs, you already know the speed they increase your boot time and program load time is basically not even comparable to HDDs, its just instant now. I cloned the old hard drive using Macriums free cloning software since Id heard some negatives about Samsungs Magician. After cloning, it was just a simple out with the HDD, in with the SSD. The computer booted instantly into Windows 10 and have had absolutely zero problems at all with it. There was no messing with BIOS, or anything, it was like I had just turned my computer off, and back on...except this time 100x faster.

Greater than one weekSamsung EVO 860 drives are the perfect balance of SSD performance and value. If you cant go NVMe, and need a SATA III SSD that will give you a great service life, Samsing EVO 860s are for you. The Samsung magician software can really give your drive a boost, so dont forget to install.

> 3 dayDespite the higher cost, Samsung should be a first choice for dependability and quality.

> 3 dayBought four of these to upgrade 4 of my Lenovo PCs (1 tower, 2 drives; and 2 laptops) hard disk drives to SSDs. With Samsungs downloadable Data Migration tool, copying C: drives and one other drive worked flawlessly. Not one problem, other than boredom. For my tower, and being a perfectionist, I ordered an Amazon whatsit kit ($11.99) to mount an SSD in a drive-bay. Couldnt figure out how to get mounting thing to work, I so left the SSDs dangle in the two bays.

> 3 dayMy laptop used to take about 5 minutes to completely finish booting before I could start loading programs. It was painfully slow. With this SSD, my boot time is about 10-15 seconds. Programs and games load instantly. There is even a feature in windows that allows a portion of the drive to be used as ram, making my computer very snappy. Migrating the information from the old drive was a little tricky at first because the partitions on the old drive wouldnt resize to fit on the smaller SSD but using a program called Macrium Reflect solved that problem. Using this program also made it so that I wouldnt have to buy a new copy of windows.

> 3 dayI had a Lenovo W530. I loved the machine. But about a month ago, I started hearing a rattle from the disk drive. Ive had many computers in the past. And, when you hear a rattle, you have about one to two months before your computer is toast. So, I researched as best I could. I was afraid that replacing it would be full of missteps and do overs. I decided on the Samsung 860 EVO 500GB.

> 3 dayFirst SSD drive I have ever owned, therefore I cannot compare it to others except for Hard Drives and for the first time I see what everyone was talking about. Before it would take my computer after starting from sleep a minute or two but now it’s about 10 seconds and it’s good to go. Samsung makes it extremely easy to copy your Hard Drive plug and go.
