> 24 hourThese drives are pre-formatted by Samsung (Fat). The drive is write protected and MUST use SamsungPortableSSD_1.0 that is pre-installed. I bought this nearly 1 month ago to replace my slow Ext. HDD. When I received the drive, I set it up and set the password. (I know the correct password.) I spent the last 3 weeks cleaning up my data and getting everything ready to migrate. Then I elected to move all my files instead of copying them. (BIG MISTAKE) Once the operation was complete, I tried to access the data on the T7, only to discover that Samsungs rotten application refuses to recognize my password. After hours of trouble shooting, I finally accepted that my data was lost and tried to run the setup program again. Initially everything seems good. But then SamsungPortableSSD_1.0 demands the password again. Now I am stuck with a $219 SSD that is worthless.

> 24 hourThe 1,050 MB/s read and 1,000 MB/s write speed claim was too much for me to resist, although I doubted it would be realized in my experience. It was not. Because of the size, appearance and affordable (for me) reduced price, I will keep this beautiful little memory card, but am very displeased with its speed. I will just think of it as my fastest portable flash drive, with the greatest capacity. I have attached Samsungs own Magician test for this card, plus a test of two other drives, plus a subsequent T7 test using CrystalDiskMark8 set to NVMe. My custom-built PC is 3.1 Gen2 from the operating system drive all the way to the motherboard port used for this last test, so I am somewhat humiliated by the fantastic results some reviewers have seen, but practically there is no problem for me. What amazes me is that the newer Seagate 3.5 HDDs run at nearly 200 MB/s on 3.1 Gen2. I used to think that was not theoretically possible. Good times!

> 24 hourDO NOT BUY THE SAMSUNG T7 SSD! I trusted the Samsung name, and though getting the T7 meant I was getting the best. But after less than two weeks files started to get corrupted, and then an entire folder disappeared. But the final straw was when I transferred all my vacation photo from my phone to the Samsung T7 SSD and they disappeared immediately! GONE. Do NOT let this happen to you. RUN from this product. You have been warned.

> 24 hourUsing this drive through a USB 3 hub I got transfer speeds of about 25 MB/sec, while my portable HDD gets about 45 MB/sec through the same USB hub.

> 24 hourThis drive is fast light and easy to carry and pretty rough too. I’ve dropped it a couple of times and it’s still going.

> 24 hourI bought the drive as a computer disk drive backup, but it is apparently intended as a backup for phones rather than computers.
