SAMSUNG T5 Portable SSD 1TB - Up to 540MB/s - USB 3.1 External Solid State Drive, Black (MU-PA1T0B/AM)

2 USB cables included and neither are correct shape to plug into the drive. WTF

I downloaded digital still images from my laptop (Dell, i5 1.7-1.9 GHz, 8 GB) on to this SSD. The speed of transfer rarely exceeded 109 Mb/sec. Briefly it went to 180 and that was it. It dropped down to 109. The plus is that it is slightly faster than my 2 TB Western Digital external HD (not SSD) and is compact. Can anybody comment on whether my laptop was the limiting factor in this case ? Thanks.

Small form factor makes this extremely portable and so far it has been fast and reliable at transferring video for me. Overall, happy with the purchase.

This is a great product but the USB connection is starting to get very finicky. It’s gotten very wobbly, and I’m not sure how long it’s going to last. Lots of money for a wobbly drive connection.

This was recommended to my by a computer person. Like the smaller size.

i used the ssd to replace my other hard drive which died and this is fast, and very tiny. I like how you just plug in to a usb and no other power required. its enough space for pictures and videos. I do recommend this drive. Transferring speed is fast also.

Really like this Samsung external hard drive. Could have more capacity, but not a show stopper!

Got it today. So far no issues. Copied 500 GB of files to it in 22 minutes, USB 3.0 from a mid-2015 15-inch Macbook Pro. Am pleasantly surprised at the speed, fast enough to use as an online drive, opening / saving large files in Photoshop. Didnt reformat the drive and didnt bother with the supplied Samsung software. If any issues surface, Ill amend this review.
