Its last gen (gen 3) but when I bought it gen 4 stuff was pretty hard to come by and far more expensive. For the money it has been totally worth it. I have played Skyrim...with mods...and recently Halo Infinite and load times are quick. I decided against a heatsink after watching a few videos where they tested and felt that it wasnt really necessary, I believe because last gen tech doesnt run as hot. Plus, my Lenovo has lots of mesh, 2 intakes fans, and 2 exhaust fans and is located in an open air space. Ive never had any freezes due to overheating so it appears to be fine.

> 24 hourYou must Overprovision this drive to get the fastest speed. You must use Windows Disk Management since the SK Hynix Drive Manager does not have this provision. Go in there, right click on the boot partition (if were talking about the boot drive) and click Shrink Volume (after this, it will show that amount as Unallocated). Im using almost 30%-more is better, but it will take away from your usable space. Sorry, this must be done as soon as you get this drive as possible (FOB-fresh out of the box) so the memory cells dont get locked/become unmovable. I tried it all already-just do it.

> 24 hourStock SSD doesnt even come close to this - boots up in SECONDS. Went with the 1TB option just because, and I have absolutely no regrets. Upgraded RAM with 32GB HyperX Impact and this thing performing beyond what I had imagined. Took me longer to open up & close the LG than it took to install & migrate the data. Will post performance pictures later.
