This thing is so fast and has so much space. I bought it to make sure I could have a bunch of games installed at the same time and still get great speeds. Never going back to just an SSD for my main HDD again.

i bought this for a PS5 and it works great. the speeds are a little low of the PS5 test but they are over 6000 and i believe the issue is with the PS5 test not the NVME drive but either way it works great and i cant tell a difference using the NVME drive or local drive on the PS5

Hynix thermal transfer over rated, hottest NVME I have used. And I build a lot of PCs. U will need a high quality Heat Sink to minimize motherboard and case heat levels.

Ive been watching a few videos about the Samsung 990 Pro, and Ive wanted to upgrade to it: from my previous 960 Pro NVMe SSD. The 990 Pro was going to be too expensive, so I started looking at reasonable/comparable alternatives. I had seen the Solidigm P44 Pro, and my initial impressions made me feel that: that would be the route I would likely take. Fortunately, I also noticed that the P44 Pro was the same hardware as this Platinum P41, with just different firmware (allegedly). When Black Friday deals were posted, I noticed that this P41 was listed as on discount, and I decided that: any minor differences between the P44 and P41 were likely not going to impact me; thus, I chose to purchase this drive and have cloned my previous 960 Pro data to this new drive. Unfortunately, I cant comment much on the actual performance because my current system is Gen 3 based. I had explicitly purchased this drive intending to upgrade to a 7950x3D AM5-based platform when my Tax-Return comes back at the start of 23. Im pretty happy with the sale price I could get this drive. It will perform significantly better than my old drive and on par with most of the top-tier Gen 4 drives. Time will tell if there are any longer-term problems, but Im doubtful that this drive will present any issues.

One thing to note is that a screw is NOT included for installation. If you purchase this as storage expansion for a laptop, you will likely need to purchase the M2x2 screw separately (if it wasnt included). In my case, I have a Dell Precision 5550 which did not come with a second storage card already installed. When I opened it up to put this new card in, I discovered that not only does Dell NOT provide a screw to mount the card, but the thermal bracket is also not included. So, I had to purchase the thermal bracket separately as well. Luckily, there are a couple of options for those here on Amazon that also include the required screw. All that was learned through trial because Dell does not provide that information. Hopefully this helps anyone else looking to to expand their storage in a Dell laptop. Both Dell and/or SK Hynix could have provided the cheap screw with their products, but chose not to. Neither was very helpful in figuring this out.

Simply put, If you want one of the fastest NVME PCIE 4 drives this is it. I installed it in a newer Z790 motherboard and have benchmarked it. It replaced a PCIE 3 Samsung 970 Pro NVME. This one is twice as fast. How that gets perceived in day to day computer use is up to the reviewer but I can say I do notice a slight difference. You can download migration software and drive management software free from SKHynix website. The migration software was straightforward and worked well. The management software is fine but lacks some of the features and polish of Samsungs Magician software. If you own a PC, no you dont really need a drive this fast unless you are a professional of some sort. Otherwise a regular SATA SSD will be cheaper and fast enough. I would recommend this if you want to take advantage of newer motherboards fast storage capabilities and just want to have the fastest drive available at this time.

Actually getting those advertised speeds on this drive is killer. The system is snappy and crisp! I dont know if its because the drive is paired with the 32gb sk hynix m die ram (wish I could have gotten a die 64gb kit) that its really responsive but, Im super pleased with this drive. Should have went with a 2tb instead of the 1tb is the only downside for me, definitely recommend.

Maybe a bit overkill but those transfer speeds are very nice
