Great mat to work on for soldering

Just wanted to share something that I didnt see in the description - the tiny little compartments are labelled with little bevelled numbers so you could jot down a list of where each screw goes. (1 - internal PCB JIS #0 bit, 2 - outer shell #0000 phillips, etc) which is so nice for larger or longer projects (wait, which screws were these again?). Mat is high quality and shipped in a resealable anti-static bag (keep it and use it for other stuff!). Im honestly super surprised at how affordable this is for what you get.

Overall this is a great small bench mat. The size is reasonable for most projects, the silicone rubber is pretty stiff. My only complaint is a square grid of screw holes would be more useful for sorting screws than the two rows along the top... but honestly im reaching for any complaints.

Im building my own mechanical keyboard and new to soldering, so I needed a mat for a safe work surface. This mat is a good size and the slots in the top work well for organizing smaller tools, screws, and other small pieces of hardware. Its not really anti-skid and some of the kitchen pads I have do a better job in that regard. However, Im lowering my review rating for the following reason: I bought a supposedly-new product and received a mat that has obviously been used and borderline damaged. It looks as though someone took their iron and held it on the surface of the mat to test its heat resistence. Ill be returning and exchanging, so well see if I actually get a new, or at the very least undamaged mat! Update 4/14/2022: 2 years later, and someone *claiming* to be from the selling company is emailing me privately and offering a $30 Amazon giftcard to delete this review. No offer to replace the damaged product (which I wasnt able to, IIRC) or reply publicly to this review with the offer. Honestly, the mat is holding up fine but I use it for a project maybe once every 3-4 months. No idea if this would be worth anything with more extensive use, though.

Great project mat for all kinds of stuff -- soldering, hot glue, other high-heat applications, etc. Also, the built in compartments make sorting components (resistors, etc.) super easy and convenient. Its also made of very thick, sturdy silicone and not the cheap thin stuff other project mats are made of. All in all, I love it.

I cant complain at all... quick shipping, received undamaged... Its a pretty tough little mat, I use it to work on watches...

This mat does exactly as intended, protects the surface and your parts. I would only suggest one minor improvement: add a small ridge to the mat to prevent tiny screws from wondering off. Other than that, excellent product. Oh, and you cant tell from the photos, but the small boxes are numbered, which helps in keeping everything separated and organized.

Overall I believe this is a good product. It has plenty of pockets up top to hold electronic components. It seems to be heat resistant to setting the iron down on it and has not scorched at all. Only negative is that its thin, so if you have any shaking or motion on the worksurface the thing will slide around a bit. Could maybe using a textured backing to give it more grip on uneven work surfaces.
