Stanwood Needlecraft Large Metal Yarn/Fiber/Wool/String Ball Winder - 10 oz

I bought this as a gift for my girlfriend and she loves it. Its sturdy, easy to use and setup and transforms entire skeins in just a few minutes.

I am in love with this ball winder and wish I had purchased it years ago instead of buying one and then another smaller winder that quickly stripped the plastic gears. It would have been cheaper to just buy this one, than the other 2 that failed within just a few balls of yarn. While this also has plastic gears...they are very heavy duty looking and the rest of it is heavy metal for the brackets and arms. I cant imagine every wearing out this one...but at least the way it is made...it looks like a person could conceivably replace any parts that fail if the company supplied. I dont expect Ill ever need to do that.

Got this for my girlfriend for her birthday and she loves it! Its pretty hypnotic to watch. Gears mesh well and the yarn glides smoothly on the guides. Im sure itll work well for years to come.

This is a great tool for the serious (or semi-serious) yarnie. I have owned a smaller unit from another vendor for about a year, and was pleased for the most part. However, after several winding mini and/or near disasters, I decided it was time to upgrade. And I am so glad I did. This is a flawless machine--at least so far. I have been using it for about a month now, and it consistently winds great center-pull cakes. Handles larger than 100g hanks with ease. Assembly was a breeze, and so far its been a gem.

I dont usually write reviews but this product works so good, I had to give it to them. I had a knit picks winder that stopped working for me. I decided to go with a winder that seemed to be a little sturdier. I wind A Lot of yarn. This winder is sturdy, Quiet...did I say Quiet, and fast. I was able to get 6 large skeins wound in 15 minutes. It was packaged nicely in order to protect the winder. Love, Love, Love it! It may be a little more expensive than some of the cheaper plastic winders, but this winder works like a dream. It is worth it to invest a little more money to get the quality and the speed that this device provides. Did I mention it was so quiet?!?! Love it!!

Purchased for my mother in law. This works great to make nice yarn cakes. Unlike some, the frame is all metal which helps with stability while turning the handle
