By far the best winder I have used. I purchased 5 others before finally finding the one that does what I need it too!

This is a nice heavy winder that can create large cakes of yarn if you are winding higher yield skeins. It turns smoothly and does a great job.

its nice when it works properly, but I do have problems with the handle slipping quite frequently and therefore that means nothing happens when I am turning the handle for several turns then it will start working again for a little bit then it stops again !!! Very Frustrating too for as much as I paid for this thing!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Awesome. I wound 10 balls the first day I owned it. Well made and should last for years.

I previously purchased this same yarn ball winder for a knitting group, and I liked it so much, I purchased one for myself. This is easy to use, and the yarn winds very fast.

I LOVE my new Stanwood Large Ball Winder! It works like a dream. The nylon gears make a humming noise that is not unpleasant and is not grating on the nerves at all. And you can wind a ball/cake of yarn FAST! I am just thrilled with it!!!

Sorry it’s taken so long to write this review. I’ve had this for 2 (3?) years now & can’t say enough nice things about it. It took a little getting used to but, once I did, I love it. It winds nice even balls. It works so smoothly. I’ve had nothing but great experiences from Stanwood winders. I’ve had the smaller Stanwood winder since 1998 & it still works perfectly. I bought this one because it winds slightly larger balls. I expect this one will be around for another 20 years.

I returned it because I felt it too difficult to figure out.

Bought this as a gift and the recipient reported that it works very well
