> 3 dayPut this in my Steam Deck to go from 256 to 512GB and install Windows. Drive was easy to install and I had no issues getting Windows installed on it. Performance and power consumption seem to be great on the Steam Deck on Windows 11 Pro.

> 3 dayTake your time taking apart steam deck. For steam os transfer need a usb to usb c adaptor for usb fob. If you have a samsung phone they included the adaptor in the past.

05-04-2025Installed this iny steam deck and had nothing but issues. Constant freezing. Since switching to a different name brand drive, I have had no issues. Missed the return window on this one, which sucks, but will never take a chance on a drive again.

Greater than one weekI wish I had gotten a larger model but this thing absolutely performs up to spec. And the most amazing thing about it is whatever they are using for thermal management is works very well and it never gets nearly as hot as my other SSD drives. That’s a tremendous bonus. I guess because this is made to go into specific gaming devices they need a stricter thermal management system. For now I’m just using it in a portable enclosure. Because that enclosure has a heat sink I can feel the heat come through the case and I’m not feeling a lot with this drive, even when it’s in continuous operation for a while. I’m gonna end up putting this in a custom music player as storage. It will be much more responsive than an SD card and it will still have very small power consumption and not put out much heat. And it will transfer music many times faster than flash cards. I typically would not buy SSD from names I don’t recognize. But so far this thing is working well and I will keep the review updated to let people know if there were any problems going forward. But for now I’m pretty impressed with this.

> 3 dayBought a used surface pro 7+ and it only had a 128gb hard drive which was not going to be enough. After creating a USB Key Drive I installed this 512GB drive in and after using the USB Key to get Windows 11 on the new drive I have a machine with enough memory to last me a long time. I would recommend this drive as I really dont see any bad things about it plus it has a 10 year warranty so I am not really worried about it.

> 3 dayThis 250GB drive is NVMe M.2 2230 so make sure your socket is properly keyed for it. It comes well packaged with a tiny screwdriver and screw. This is a small card. IUts about the size of an SD card. I mounted it on my Xiwai Low Profile PCI-E 3.0 x1 Lane to M.2 NGFF M-Key SSD Nvme AHCI PCI Express Adapter Card and had no problem. My Linux box had no issue detecting it and I used GParted to initialize it with no problem. A 29GB file transfer (mix of photos and large mp4s) completed in just over 5 minutes. And that was from a SATA SSD source to a PCI-E x1 interface. The manufacturer specs list High-Speed sequential read/write speed up to 3,200MB/s and 2,600MB/s, random read/write speed up to 320K and 300K IOPS respectively. Designed for the new Gen3 x 4 PCIe slots, PCIe 3.0 and NVMe 1.3 compliance., so mounted on a new gen interface, performance will be much better. Thermals werent bad on it, its not a finger burner, but a heat sink wouldnt hurt. Not a bad drive at all. It carries a 3 yr warranty.

> 3 dayBought it to use on steam deck. Reviews where ok. Not sure if i just got a bad unit. It failed in two weeks. I would not use this in a steam deck. I started to notice slowed down performace before it died.

> 3 dayI havent had any particular issues with installing this brand of 2230 SSD into my former 64 GB Steam Deck. Everything appears to be in working order as well, and although I havent tried any heavy gaming on it as of this writing - whats seemingly important of all is the fact that its a legitimate option for upgrading your Steam Deck accordingly. Ill admit I was actually skeptical about what Id be getting out of a practically unknown company given were technically still in the wild west days of this device, so you tend to be rather wary about who youre purchasing such an integral component of your shiny brand new toy from. But it seems to do exactly what you expect out of the box, so long as you know what youre doing. Overall the price point is decent for what youre getting, and is a valid option for expanding the space in your Steam Deck if spending that extra couple hundred of dollars (along with tax) simply isnt possible within your budget. Definitely worth your consideration.

Greater than one weekBought the base model steam deck, then replaced the 64gb ssd with this 512gb ssd. Works perfectly. If youre looking for how to do it, check out Ifixit for tips.
