Ive had this suitcase for a few years now, and finally settled into a decision after many, many trips. I love this suitcase, except for one thing: as soon as you put anything on top of it, including a small thule backback (which I also really like), it weighs down abominably, like youre carrying about 50 lbs on brick when you pull it in an inclined position. Unfortunately, because its not a spinner, you have to pull it in an inclined position. If I could rebuy, Id go for the spinner instead. The spinner might not be as durable over cobbled stones, but wont strain my arms if I have to pull anything on top.

I was finally able to put this roller bag through a real world test and it passed with flying colors. It was easy to navigate through city streets, train stations and fit well in overhead bin space. I found the interior to have plenty of space, enough for an entire suit, including accessories, dress shoes, a pair of jeans and a tshirt, as well as many cord and some electronics. The partition that allows you smash down one side actually works really well and is very easy to pull on and off. the material seems durable and I think its going to last, the wheels also dont show any wear that would make me think theyll give out. Thules warranty looks to be pretty good. The handle slid up and down with ease and rose to a comfortable height. Two things I think this unit could use at this price point: It really should have coaster wheels that you can push along and I wish that the logo wasnt as prominent, it really distracts from the minimalism of it.

The wheels roll over small bumps with ease. Looks good and is lightweight. The quick access pocket at the top is very useful.

I have been very happy with this bag for its superior construction, ability to compress clothes, useful pockets, and it fits perfectly in an overhead bin. Downsides for me is that it does not hold a lot even with the compression ability (and the compression feature really wrinkled some of my clothes), and it is a little on the heavy side for its size.

I just used this suitcase on a short trip and absolutely love it. The design is both visually appealing and functionally ideal. The suitcase opens down the middle and one side is a fully open section (with a flat cover that can be adjusted to keep clothes in place and keep them from falling out when the suitcase is opened) and the other side is about 3/4 of the side of the suitcase with a zipper to close. The final 1/4 of that side of the suitcase is taken up by a pouch that unzips from the front of the suitcase and allows for storing things that you need easy access to. What I love about that pouch is that it is big enough to hold larger items like a book or a toiletry bag without a problem. I was able to use this bag as my carry-on bag and not need a second personal item like a backpack because of the convenience of how this bag is laid out.

I am very pleased with the Thule Subterra Carry-On for its clever design and attention to a customer’s needs. Made of nylon, around 7 lbs., with three color choices (Dark Shadow, Mineral, Ember), the smooth nylon finish is easy to clean and carry. One of the most aggravating parts of travel these days, it is a pleasure to bring this Carry-On on board a crowded plane with very little space for extras. (The tough, oversized wheels and telescoping handles are a welcome touch, as is the piggyback strap attachment loop should you need to attach another bag.

This bag is incredible. I LOVE the compression side ...can fit so much more into it and not look all wrinkled. Has a protetced outside pocket ....I love it. Looks great too.

Stylish, practical and sturdy. Looks small but holds all essentials. Used for a week long business trip.

I recently purchased this suitcase (out of de$peration, at the airport) on a 2 week trip through Europe that involved 4 different non-connecting flights, mostly small regional airlines, and multiple trips via cobblestones, subway, escalator, and train. My concerns were: many airlines had strange carry-on requirements (ie: absurdly thin, such that my 2 tiny under-seaters didnt even qualify), checking a bag was (obviously) NOT an option, and I do NOT want to stress about the size/weight of my bag. Also, for the record, overpacking is NOT one of my problems. Im a super light traveler, so please keep that in mind for this review.

This is a handy little roll-on suitcase. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the design with built in dividers. These dividers are advertised as allowing you to pack more. That rather depends on how and what you pack. If you are an organized person you may actually pack systematically and may benefit from using the dividers. Personally, I can pack more into a suitcase if I have undivided space. Again, if you are one of those organized people, you may find that this lets your clothes arrive at your destination in better shape. The wheel mechanism seems a little bulky and reduces the amount of usable space. Still Thule does make a larger version of this if you find the space inadequate for your needs.
