Bought a heat sink separately, stuck it in the PS5 and now I have all my favourite games ready to go.

TL/DR: If you do not have a Windows PC with an extra M.2 nvme slot, you cannot update the firmware unless you use Windows to Go or clone Win OS onto this SSD. External enclosures do not allow it either. There is no way to know if you even need a firmware update without this. But according to WD forums etc, yes you do need to update the firmware and according to below conversation, they all ship with factory default firmware not the latest...This will not run at 7k in a second M.2 slot either on any mobo.

Ho acquistato questa SSD per espandere la memoria della PS5. Con WD mi sono sempre trovato bene in quanto ad affidabilità e, essendo scontata quando l’ho acquistata un mese fa, non ci ho pensato due volte. È perfetta, formattazione istantanea, nessuna differenza rispetto all’SSD interno e anzi, sto giocando tutti i titoli su questo SSD WD, anche quelli PS5. Installazione ok, potrebbe essere un pelo più semplice ma quello è legato alla struttura della console. Da abbinare un dissipatore di calore, che tuttavia si può trovare tranquillamente per 15€ circa. Assolutamente consigliato!

Nothing to dislike. Excellent price, fast as hell and works perfectly in the PS5. In fact, Mark Cerny, the lead engineer of the PlayStation 4 and 5 has this exact model in his own PS5.

We bought this to add extra storage to the PS5. It works well and is very easy to install. Would have liked the bigger storage but its so expensive!!

Comprado para un ordenador, la diferencia entre el anterior que ya era bueno y éste es en velocidad de casi el doble. En este caso el ordenador tiene un controlador al que este disco duro lleva al máximo de su velocidad, quedando lejos de la velocidad límite del disco con lo que no se calienta tanto y puede mantener perfectamente las funciones sólo con un pad térmico a la placa base (es exáctamente lo que andaba buscando porque el disipador de aluminio de la versión con disipador es demasiado grande para que quepa en la caja de mi ordenador portátil).

Zweimal habe ich die ssd bestellt und jedesmal war da kein Kühlkörper verbaut wie auf den Bildern.
